We took this exploration trip with our 3.5 year old son back in May. After the initial safety instructions we had off to the sea. In the matter of minutes we spotted the flock of dolphins. They obviously liked us, because they were swimming with us for about ten minutes. We were enjoying the curiosity of those animals and suddenly the whale came to the surface. It affected our emotions with all his glory. Its just amazing to see the animal this size swimming near you so smoothly. Afterwards we had a chance to meet the sea lions. It could not be better. And we got a scientific explanation for every specie that we encountered. So at the end it was one of the greatest trips for our emotions and knowledge about this amazing sea animals. Thank you Nic!

This was to be the highlight of our trip to West Cork this summer. We were not disappointed! Your guide, Nic, will put you at ease with his friendly manner and cheeky banter. He is a fountain of local knowledge and doesn't seem to mind when, in the middle of the safety chat, is upstaged by a diving gannet!

The tour sets off from Baltimore harbour and your nerves are eager with anticipation, your eyes start to play tricks on you and you imagine whales at every turn. Unfortunately we did not see whales at every turn but we did see a few minky whales and a harbor porpoise. These are wild animals and not performing circus pets. The scenery of the area and the birdlife is second to none.

A visit to Cape Clear Island was a welcome stop, just enough time for a bowl of very fine chowder and a visit to the ladies, before boarding Voyager for the return leg of the trip.
On this leg, we got to see some fabulous seals who were quite happy to bask and swim and come up for a nosey at us.

Over four and a half hours later we returned to Batimore, tired but elated.

Nic told us that if we saw any activity to shout, scream and point - By God, we shouted, screamed and pointed - it was the best day ever.

Nic, you are a true gentleman and I cannot wait for tour number 2.

We had a great time whale watching. We saw only a few small whales and lots of seals! Although we only saw a few whales and nothing big it was still a good time. Beautiful scenery. Nic knows his facts not only about whale watching but about the area as well. Everyone should try this whale watching trip.

We had a wonderful day whale watching with Nic, who is authoritative, friendly and helpful in every way. The trip lasted four and a half hours with a stop off for refreshments on Cape Clear island. Great views of the spectacular coast and islands on the way and we saw minke whales, seals and dolphin. We recommend this trip very highly.

I have been out with Whale Watch West Cork on a few occasions and the trips have always been super. I have managed to be lucky enough to see Fin, Humpback and Minke Whales, grey seals and of course wonderful schools of Dolphins - I cannot recommend this trip enough. Nic is always welcoming, professional and glad to share his knowledge of the sea and of the area.
