“Irelands No1 Best and a Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

This is the crown in the jewel of west cork.

Beautiful golden soft sand. A long beach with some excellent swimming conditions when the tide is around half way in. Not commercialized and hopefully it'll stay that way. No buses allowed but a fairly decent sized car park is available and you can access the beach via a pontoon.

“The best beach in Ireland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

I`ve been going to this beach all my life and its simply the best. A stream around the back for kids to swim in and surf out the front, now with a car park, board walk and toilets. A walk up the hotel and your set!
Also look out for the secluded beaches near Chimney cove which is right next to it - a must see!

“Windy, sandy and pretty”

Sandy beach is not what you've come to expect in Ireland. This is a nice large beach, great during the summer I am sure but off season a good place for a walk.

Beautiful clean beach, golden sand, big waves. Can be busy at summer weekends but you'll find a spot!
