This place is unique! You wont find anywhere like it. They have a new menu to die for. Great deal 2 dishes and dessert for 20 euro each. Service with a smile and never made to feel in a rush. You can sit back after your meal and relax. Such a lovely atmosphere where your patronage is valued. Alice at front of house always makes you so welcome. We wish you and staff all the best with this gem of a place!!!

On a friends recommendation, drove to The Hungry Bookworm for a late lunch today. Tucked away off the main street in Loughrea, it is well worth getting off the motorway, or other roads you may be on for your journey. Lounging sofas, hundreds of books, a very reasonable menu make this a spot to return to. We had, a pulled pork sandwich, delicious, and FIsh Goujons, great, which were tasty and filling for a reasonable E7.95 each. Java Coffee, a grand brew and a tasty homemade lemon and blueberry sponge finished things off nicely. Lovely manager and a warming local feel.

Ok so having read the reviews on here I will try to give a very balanced review of this gorgeous find in Loughrea. Ambiance and decor are quirky and lovely..really pleasant place to spend an afternoon. I don't understand critiques of dessert choice as there are loads of choices on the menu and very varied. The food is nicely presented and is perfect for lunch/dinner. I would highly recommend the mezze plate for sharing..so many gorgeous tastes and the pitta is a healthy alternative to bread.Order the chips, they are gorgeous!
Granted the service was on the slow side but to be honest, the atmosphere was so chilled out and my food so good, it didn't in any way take away from the experience and I wasn't in a rush.
Pricewise..its middle of the road, not dear not cheap, portion sizes are good and the food really is worth it..if you want a cheap sandwich go somewhere else!
I've been here during the day and at night and the atmosphere is fantastic. It may very well be my favourite place in County Galway to spend a lazy saturday afternoon catching up with friends.
Keep up the great work!

its cute, its cosy..but the food is just so boring, chips with everything and the prices are too steep for whats on offer.the service is friendly but haphazard..you could be left waiting or you could be served straight away..please broaden the menu...get more highchairs...stop using aldi and supervalu products and selling them at restaurant prices....more desserts ..some snack options..please expand and cherish your customers dont keep hiking up the prices while lowering the quality

Was passing through Loughrea on my way from Kerry to Ballinasloe.....was fortunate to have knocked across this little gem. Lovely cozy atmosphere, the staff was very friendly and the food was fresh and tasty.....all at a reasonable price. I hope my travels take me through Loughrea again soon as I'll be sure to eat here again.
