Wonderful home in a great country setting. Tom and Mairead are great hosts and became friends by the time we left. Tom is the Master of the Hunt and conducts over 100 days of hunting each year. He treated us to a tour of his hunt facilities including the hounds and horses.

We enjoyed dinner at the local pub - fish and chips with Guinness.

Staying with Tom and Mairead was one of the highlights of our trip!

When my husband and I arrived at Craig Country House we were warmly greeted and sadly told that they had a huge storm during the day and the power was out. Mairead called all of the local hotels to see if they had power and a room available for the night while we had tea with her family and then went to a local pub to eat. We stayed at the other hotel for one night, but came back for the following 2 nights.

I have no complaints at all. We had a lovely time. Tom, Mairead, and the rest of their family are all wonderful people. Their daughter even took us over to the hunt club to see the hounds and new hound puppies. The rooms were great, the property was beautiful, everything was clean and well kept. Every time we drove onto the property we were greeted by their 3 small friendly dogs who we nick named "The inspection Crew" as they always smelled the outside of our car front to back to see where we had been. ;)

Highly recommend! If we are ever in the area, we will definitely stay at Craig Country House again!

This is a lovely B&B and the host family are delightful, warm, and friendly and very personable. On the day of our arrival, Mairead made us tea and we sat at their kitchen table and chatted with our hosts and family memvers. They are very welcoming and are deserving of a their high rating, most assuredly. We loved their sweet and friendly little dogs, Basel, Maggie, and Sally who went on several walks with us down lovely Irish country lanes. And meeting Tom's one hundred hounds at the lodge was an experience that we will never forget! The B&B rooms are very nice, comfortable, and clean. The B&B location is excellent for visiting Galway City, the Burren and Lady Gregory's trail, and other area sites. A high recommend by us!

If you are looking for good honest traditional hospitality this is the place. We took two rooms for a family of 2 adults and 3 children and within minutes it was as if the place was our own. Tom made us afternoon tea on arrival and Mairead packed a picnic for us for the next day. I couldn't find fault even if I wanted to. They are both sincere hard working people and I wish them all of the very best in the future - But we will return for the same weekend next year!

It isn't hard to see why others give this B &B a wonderful rating also! Tom (who did most of our cooking that week) was just great and Mairead -who was very busy at the time -also was a wonderful hostess-even sat in our room one evening after her long day to ask us about ours! And the dogs-my friends who are animal lovers could not have asked for more fun then seeing the Hounds. Thank you so much for a most wonderful visit. Danette, Heather and 'Lady' Sue

This was the best of the B & B's we stayed at during our self tour of Ireland. Mairead & Tom made us feel like part of their family. Due to our delayed flight we had to cancel our first night out of 3, and added another day at the end of our two weeks, it was not even an issue. We were invited to see their 110 hunting dogs & 3 new litters of puppies. What fun the experience was!

Room Tip: The front bedroom up stairs was bright and sunny with a wonderful view of the front yard which had a...

We unfortunately had only one night in the Loughrea area, but we had a terrific stay just the same. Mairead and Tom are very gracious hosts and despite our late arrival made us feel most welcome. Our room and bath were spacious and very clean and comfortable, with lovely linens and decor. Tom prepared a very generous and delicious breakfast and spent time telling us about the area and giving us a delightful tour of his kennels. They are very well situated for touring a most beautiful part of Ireland. We would certainly return any time we are in their area. Thank you Mairead and Tom!
