We booked a family room for a 3 night stay and found the room spacious, clean and very comfortable. We ate in the bar on the first night and the food was of a very high standard and cooked to perfection. The breakfast was buffet style with a selection of juices, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, bread, cold meats, tea/coffee, toast and then the cooked breakfast. Everything was kept freshly topped up.

The swimming pool and spa was very clean and well maintained and our kids loved it. There is also a great play park across the road which is great for families.

All in all we found our stay at Lady Gregory very enjoyable as ALL the staff were friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble for them.

En route on a trip we decided to stay at the Lady Gregory. The staff made sure when phoning we were aware this was a wedding night, with the associated revels :-)
The staff was helpful the entire stay, service and breakfast were decent.

We didn't stay in the hotel but visited the bar on a Sunday evening for dinner. We had been there years before for a wedding and remembered it as being a fairly standard hotel. In the 5 years since we had last been there, nothing seemed to have changed, and the place seemed very shabby. The bar has lovely woodwork but really needs to re painted and cleaned. We waited over 20mins to give our order (and even then we had to keep asking for someone to take it). We have a 3yo and a 1yo, no high chair was offered. We got one ourselves and it was filthy. When we arrived there were only 3 other tables occupied and there was more staff than that but still we waited 1hr 20mins to get our food and then it was cold. When we said it was cold, the waitress said "oh sorry about that" but didn't offer to heat it, etc. I won't be back, which is a pity because it's very nearby and used to be a nice hotel.

Stayed in the Lady Gregory Hotel recently it was a most enjoyable experience .Everything about the hotel was top class the room was spacious clean and very comfortable .The staff and management were helpful and friendly at all times. The food was reasonable priced and was five star quality.
Another reason to stay in the Lady Gregory is its great location within 40 minutes drive of the historic city's of Galway and Limerick and on the very edge of the world famous and very beautiful Burren

We were passing through and decided to stay here ...it's like a sleeping giant .....very spacious with an old world feel in very modern surroundings ..The reception and the bar fabulous the rooms could be updated but really no big deal ...great staff particularly Kieran ( training to be a teacher ) very friendly and couldn't be more helpful ....bottom line you ate anywhere near this hotel it's well worth a visit ..

Lovely hotel and great place to stay while touring the west of Ireland.
Lovely staff, great big rooms, good breakfast and a small but nice leisure center. Got a good rate on the internet and used it as our base for three nights

We stayed for three nights, so had time to dwell on the good, the bad and the ugly in this hotel. Here are the positives:

Beautiful public rooms - the wood and stained glass are really lovely
Excellent food in the bar
Friendly staff throughout
Excellent breakfast, although my husband was disappointed that there were no kippers!
Lovely swimming pool/leisure centre on site

And the negatives:

The furnishings in the room seriously need updating - the furniture was old-fashioned, worn and battered. TV was of the old style too - time to update to a flat screen.
Small, uncomfortable double bed with scratchy blanket - again, time to upgrade to duvets.
Shower in the bathroom was awkward to get in and out of and was stuck on one temperature, which was just bearable, but was almost too hot.
Worst housekeeping I've experienced for a long time - the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly and the cups were just left unwashed for three days.
Pool is too cold and not everything worked in the leisure centre - lockers were broken, one of the steam rooms wasn't working etc.
The bedroom was too hot and the windows barely opened so it was impossible to cool the room down.

There's generally a feeling of neglect in this hotel, which is a shame as it could be really good with some refurbishment and some tlc. I wouldn't stay here again, unless it was brought up to date.
