“Little a little ... Get to Howth ASAP”
Review of Howth Hills

Reviewed 4 July 2014

All you need is a zest for life, well if you lost it you will regain it after spending a few hours hiking lightly around Howth. Many trails to choose from....pack some water, small snack and off you go. Seems everyone says hello ... From tourists to locals. It's never crowded and each season offers something special in Howth. Easy to keep away from the busy town for a couple of hours then head down for a wonderful coffee or bite to eat I. The country store beside the church #lovehowth

The hill of Howth is a place I love a lot. I have walked it so many times and I never get bored. You can start at the end of the pier and walk up the Balscaddan road and you end up on the path that will bring you to the Summit.

There are numerous path ways to get to the summit or to walk around the hill of Howth. The one I like most is the cliff walk. You have to be careful as the path is not very wide but generally it is safe. If there is a danger it has been signposted.

Once you arrive at the Summit you can walk from here if you still have the energy again along a pathway to Sutton Cross. It is about a 2 hour walk for the average person maybe even more but on a nice day it is really beautiful.

You can see the sea, the Dublin and Wicklow mountains, Dublin bay, Millionaire's beach also called Jameson's beach, known only to few as it is long gone but I spet many a sunny day swimming there. To get to it you have to climb down a path which is a bit steep. The beach itself is not so clean and it is more pebbles than sand.

Towards the end you eventually arrive at Sutton Cross. I could write a lot more about the Hill of Howth as there are so may ways one can walk and see something different.

Don't miss this beautiful hill one of the only ones within easy reach of Dublin City.

This is just a beautiful place to visit and walk and enjoy the majestic views accross the bay.The graet Irish poet even live fora time here."I being poor have spread my dreams beneath you feet. Thread softly because you tread on my dreams" and it may have been here where ho got some of his inspiration for the above lines.
