We had a couple of hours to spare before catching our flight. Driving into Howth we parked on the quay right outside Octopussy, the sign on the outside described it as a seafood tapas restaurant, so thought with limited time we would be served quickly.
Inside the room is tiny with only 18 covers I think, but the it was so homely and gave off a very warm and inviting vibe. We had oysters, crab claws and the best goujons of white fish I have ever eaten. The service was fast and efficient and everything is cooked right in front of you.

After 4 days travelling around Ireland this was the best find on our trip, we are already talking of coming back and staying in Howth.

“Great seafood”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Octopussy has great seafood, at reasonable prices, and with a lovely location by the harbour. We had two seafood platters which provided a variety of different fish and seafood. Every item from the crab claws to the mussels and giant prawns were perfectly cooked. All served with delicious wheaten bread and butter. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. It's small and crowded but don't let that put you off. One minor comment, the fish chowder was a bit too milky and floury, and could have bit more fishy for my liking. But otherwise great food and service and we will be back.

“Sea Food at its Best!!!!!”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

What a wonderful experience. It was a first visit to Ireland and the restaurant came on recommendation and it certainly didn't disappoint. Prawns, oysters, calamari, lobster mussels and scallops all beautifully served and absolutely mouth watering . Would definitely want to re-visit if I come back to Ireland.

“A dream of seafood come true!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

My friend had been here before and told me we had to go. Thank god we did, it was incredible.
We sat by the window and started off with a bottle of delicious white wine.
Pouring over the menu we decided on a selection of food: squid with chorizo and chilli, oysters, clam chowder, three types of fish with chips and a pan of mussels and monkfish in a more than delicious butter sauce.
We enjoyed the view, the food and the atmosphere with great delight. The waitresses were an absolute pleasure and we had a bit of a laugh.
The dessert was gorgeous. Rhubarb and strawberry creme brûlée and a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and crumble.
The bill was more than great and we took a lovely walk to help it all go down after in howth.
I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again when I am next in Ireland!

“Love this place”
Reviewed 13 May 2014 via mobile

I have been here a few times over the last while and it always delivers great food for great value. My favourite dish was a scallop and black pudding special which would not have been out of place in a Michelin star place. Great value packed wine list also.
