“Good if you can get cheap.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2013

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2013. Was visiting Dublin for the first time. It is a twenty minute subway ride into Dublin which is no big deal and kind of fun. Howth is a beautiful little town with a couple pubs and some good seafood restaurants.

This hotel is fine, kind of run down but beautiful location. If you pay a lot you are going to be disappointed but if you get it cheap you will be satisfied. Hope this helps.

This hotel has an amazing location. Shuttle bus is free and will bring you anywhere in the area, including the station for the 25 min ride to Dublin.

The refurbished room is not large but was fine for us. The pool and sauna area is quite large. Gym modern.

The only negative thing was that there is no supermarket in or around Howth.

Stayed overnight. Hotel very clean and comfortable although a bit dated. Views absolutely outstanding. Hotel run a minibus service into Howth. Didn't eat in hotel so can't rate food but there are so many fantastic restaurants in Howth one is spoilt for choice, Pool and spa good,

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a front room overlooking golf course - views superb.

On arriving quite late, the young lady on reception was extremely helpful in a couple of things we required immediately. We had one of the newly refurbished rooms (141) and although some of the carpet needs replacing in the hallways, it didn't distract from our experience. The view and locality was perfect. Breakfast was lovely. Would recommend staying there. Nothing was a problem, including getting a small fridge in the room for my wife's medication. She had a massage and spent some time in the relaxation area which she said was lovely.

Stayed two nights, found it grubby and generally run down, The carpets throughout are a disgrace, not only dirty and stained but also loose in places. The Throw on our bed was stained, I don't even want to imagine with what! Toilet roll holder in bathroom hanging off, all it needed was to be tightened up.The food was average to say the least, Final insult was on checking out,They wanted €300, for 2 nights B&B !!!!!, the price we had been quoted on the phone was €205, They eventually relented. even €205 was way too much for this place.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

being self employed and being stressed as we are in the current climate. I needed a get away. short break not far from home...... booked deer park hotel golf and spa...... Well I have to say great value for money... originally booked on line for two nights but decided before I arrived I would stay 3 nights..... had a Balneotherapy bath in the Spa had full use of hotel Swimming Pool. Sauna and Jacuzzi....... Views are stunning,,,,, Don't play Golf at all..... but defiantly would recommend this hotel for a get away break.......... unfortunately there were a few down sides..... as I was travelling alone I felt people were not the friendliest.... observing the bar staff while cheery enough, found them to be very rude if its the right word. soon as you left the room they skitted most and laughed about most behind their back.......one member was most helpful..... the team on the reception were excellent and very helpful and friendly.....the breakfast was a big let down, as I slept out the first morning.... the second morning I arrived half hour to breakfast finishing 9.30......would expect them to have had full irish topped up a little fresher than what I got..... it was as if the eggs and bacon were there from 7.30... so off putting I had planned on having a meal on the second evening that I changed my mind and went into the village of Howth instead.....a little brush up here and there from Irish workers.....treat every customer as your first customer or how you would like to be treated and can not see how you could not reach that 5th circle for excellence.

Room Tip: the rooms nearest the pool were excellent

While visiting old friends and family in Howth, a few of us stayed at the Deer Park Hotel. This was my fifth time to stay here, as usual we were met with broad smiles at reception, an easy checkin and assistance with our bags. We were soon settled into a newly refurbished room (220), fresh, airy and well laid out.
The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, especially Samuel, he always makes breakfast a pleasure. The new layout for breakfast works well, especially the parts cooked to order. Keep up the good work, and we hope to see you all in 2014.
