I walked the harbour with sisters and cousins. We had travelled to be together in Howth where our great grandparents, William and Mary Harford lived. Some of our relatives were fishermen and lifeboat crew. One lost his life at sea while still only a young man, another was awarded a medal for a heroic life saving. Today, Howth is a place for wealthy people to harbour their yachts and build expensive houses. No wonder they gravitate here, it is a very attractive place.
