“This B&B ia a Hidden Jewel for exploring Ireland's West Coast & Connemara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2010

My wife and I first stayed with Kathleen in her very lovely home last Summer. We were touring around the west Coast and were recommended to this B&B by the local tourist office. We stayed one night and were so pleased with the area, we then chose to stay for a full week. Kethleen also has, as well as the B&B rooms, a very beautiful self contained apartment, so we moved into this and had a wonderful week. She really knows how to make you feel welcome and at home! We returned to Ireland again this month (Feb) for a long weekend, and stayed as B&B guests with Kethleen. She serves the best breakfast we had on our tour and other B&B's could learn a lot from her standards of cleanliness! This is on the edge of town, so nice and quiet, but within easy walking to all the Pubs and restaurants. We would happily reccomend this establishment to anyone.

Myself and six work colleagues recently spent 5 nights at Tullyvrick. I can without any hesitation recommend Tullyvrick B&B as an place to stay in Oughterard. Our stay was one of the most memorable and enjoyable stays we've ever had away in any B&B or hotel for that matter. Located only a stone's throw from the village of Oughterard, itself a very famous village in Ireland, and positioned on the doorstep to the Gateway to Connemara, perhaps one of the most awe inspiring and unspoilt natural regions throughout Europe.

Tullyvrick offers all the convenience of clean, modern and impecccably maintained accomodation. Rooms size is generous, ensuite and well equipped. The breakfasts are well famous by now. If you enjoy a hearty Irish breakfast well you're in for a treat. In fact the free range eggs come from the hens which may be seen foraging for treats in the garden.

There are many icons and features of traditional Irish craft and art to be seen throughout Tullyvrick, including beautiful natural stonemasonry, paintings, great joinery, beautiful colourful gardens and of course the fantastic turf fires. Rooms are bright airy and well equipped.

Indeed the whole effect is so memorable as to justify a 'HOME from HOME experience'. But don't just take my word, and as I read the notes written by many European visitors, many saying that 'Tullyvrick' was in their own opinion, the best accomodation they ever enjoyed not just in Ireland but ever.

Tullyvrick will instantly impress but will also make a lasting impression that you will want you to come back to enjoy. My colleagues look forward to our next opportunity to work in this region and there is no doubt, they will wish to stay at Tullyvrick.

Well done Kathleen, you're doing an excellent job of extending the world renown great Irish tradition of a family welcome.
