We had a wonderful meet at the Boat Inn. The crab cakes were awesome and everything was well prepared and presentation was brilliant! After a minor problem with my salad, Rory went above and beyond to make sure our experience remained outstanding and his professionalism greatly impressed us. Sometimes it's just the skill in handling minor issues which makes the difference! We would return to the Boat Inn in a heartbeat! Thanks to all the staff for the wonderful dinner.

Spent our first night in Ireland here after driving our rental car from Dublin airport.Bedrooms are upstairs over the hotel and bar. Tidy rooms but dated. Bathroom was clean. Had a great time looking around the small stores and visiting 2 of the nearby pubs. ( both were across the road ). Parking is what you can find on the street. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper - road noise or the music from downstairs may cause an issue. Breakfast was very good and kept you going until dinner! The B and B is being renovated but not sure how long this will take.

The hotel is situated in the small centre off the town. Across the street were luckily 2 nice pubs with good food. The staff was too busy with the restaurant to have time for the guests. That was a lot better in other Irish hotels we visited during ore stay in Ireland. Breakfast was good and till 12 pm. Very nice when you had a late night in the pub. The room was clean an light, but it was very noisy on the street from early in the morning. The food we had for dinner the first night was disappointing. It looked good but was tasteless. We had stuffed chicken and a burger.

Room Tip: The rooms on the street side like we had are noisy.

Stopped here going to and coming back from Inishbofin - it has fabulous food and excellent staff. A varied menu of very tasty options and nothing is too much trouble. Irish hospitality and food at its best. Lots of seating and it is spotless clean.

Our B & B landlady recommended the Boat Inn. It is a light, lively bar and restaurant that when we went there featured a good young singer and the World Cup on TV. However, the food and service did not match the entertainment. My wife's 'Connemara' lamb and vegetables were over-cooked, frozen and tasteless. My burger seemed to have been bought in too. The waitresses were more interested in flirting with the young men at the bar and although we wanted to try the home made brown bread ice cream no one came to take our order, so we paid and left. Perhaps it was just an off day.
