Myself & my girlfriend were doing the tourist thing in Ireland, when we happened upon Lisdoonvarna. we went into the market across the road to find an ATM, the clerk said there wasn't one in town but if we were looking to have lunch, we should try at the pub across the road.
We did & we were delighted to find a cheery bloke greet us as we walked up to the bar. he enquired what we were looking for, I said a feed & a couple of pints of Guiness.
I had the bacon & cabbage ( simple yet excellent) & the missus had the beef & guiness stew (even better). The publican was a complete gentleman & the beer & food were top notch!
We told everyone we saw for the next week how good it was & will definately frequent this B+B if we get back to Ireland again

Hi there. It is good to know that we are still recommended by other local business as a great place to dine. The Bacon & Cabbage and Beef in Guinness Stew are hugely popular. Call in again next time you are nearby and thank you so much for the recommendations to other people you met on your travels. Much appreciated!!

I've been to Irish arms twice. It's a great place to experience the pub atmosphere, great service, great food and the locals. The pub/restaurant guarantees an excellent time for those who want to eat in a very Irish pub/restaurant. Lisdoonvarna has the best festival for singles in Ireland (September every year). Even if you're not around at this time go and take a picture in front of the famous Matchmaker Bar. The bar is 3 min from the Irish arms, which makes a nice walk through the main road of the town. They also offer B&B service and major tourists attractions are very close, which makes the place a great base if you want to travel around Co. Clare. The Irish arms is a gem in Co. Clare.

6 of us stayed here, the rooms are small but more than big enough, the only complaint we had was we could hear all our neighbours talk and cough, luckily they went to sleep early.
The pub was good and served great meals. I highly recommend the Guinness Irish Stew, the best one we had on our trip.
All followed by a great breakfast served in the best room in the place.

Lisdoonvarna drew my attention from movies and The Irish Arms drew my heart upon arrival. I was new to the 'B&B' experience so I was not sure what to expect. Located at the end of town The Irish Arms is family run, literally - son tends bar, Dad serves breakfast. Mom probably cooks...food was delicious but we did not meet her. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and ready to help us with directions and itinerary suggestions. Making sure we knew where we were going and how to get back.
The location was superb for our self-drive tour of The Burren. We easily reached the Cliffs of Moher in 15 minutes. Also traveled to Doolin for the boat ride under the Cliffs. We saw the Aillwee Cave and Birds of Prey all in an unhurried day from our central location at The Irish Arms.
Our room was #8, up about 10 stairs and in the front. No black out curtains but don't worry they turn the sign lights off at 11pm. The room had two double beds, two chairs, a wardrobe and vanity. Also full ensuite with shower. They provided a kettle for coffee/tea if we wanted to make in room. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast which was very convenient to not have to make a specific time window, or sleep right through it!
We had eggs, toast, bacon, sausage and cereal available. They cooked the eggs to order. We also chose dinner here both nights. For two adults our bill ran €26. The food was hearty and traditional Irish fare.
I felt very secure in this location. The local school is right across the street, as well as a small grocery store. The Church is half block down and has daily mass. And with the post office next door you can send 'well wishes' home easily!
We found ourselves wanting to stay here longer than our reserved two nights and I would recommend The Irish Arms to anyone visiting this area.
Definitely let the charm of The Irish Arms be a part of your Ireland adventure!

Room Tip: Ooopps.... No swimming pool or fitness center.

We stayed here on the advice of some freinds who stayed here earlier in the year. It is run by a very nice family who helped us out with getting good deals on all the local attractions. Everything is so close by. The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, The Caves and Ferry are all no more than a 10 min drive from here. Our room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was substantial and there is a nice bar here too serving great food. Only a 3 min walk to the town centre.Would recommend this place.

I was up in Lisdoonvarna during the festival in September. The place i stayed in last time was full so i ended up wandering up the street and found this place. Its more like a small hotel than a B&B and is run by a nice family. Rooms were clean and had everything you would expect. The whole place is spotlessly clean. We ate here as well and the food was great. Roast Beef was unreal. I would recommend this place to anyone and the town centre is only 200 yeards from here. Very handy location.

Room Tip: We had a room on the front but the street is quiet with lots of parking.

In the village of Lisdoonvarna, exists a gem of a Bed and Breakfast. Run by the McNamara family, The Irish Arms combines a B&B with a pub which serves a good variety of food and drink.

Rooms for the B&B are upstairs over the pub. They are welcoming and comfortable and provide all that's necessary for a good night's rest.

Breakfast is served in a dining space separate from the pub. The breakfasts are made to order but do indulge yourself with a full Irish Breakfast to start your day. It is fantastic!

This B&B get two thumbs up in our book. Give it a try!
