A lovely week long stay with my partner in Easter 2011. (I have also stayed here a number of years ago with my dad and brother so it was lovely to come back) Such friendly people, especially the owners Manfred & Geraldine who are lovely and appear to be very passionate about their family run business.
The chalets are self catering, spacious and well maintained. We received a welcome hamper which was very kind. The restaurant is on site and this serves truly delicious food, often cooked by Geraldine. I have tried a number of the dishes on the menu and have always been very pleased (as was my partner).
The chalets overlook the Lough Ree and the views are just beautiful. It is a lovely and relaxing break for couples, friends, families and even a single person as there are a variety of things to do such as hiring one of the boats to either go for a drive on the lake or to go fishing. The area has such beautiful scenery - we had some great photos from our stay. The prices are well worth it. It was the best place that we have stayed at in Ireland. Much better than a hotel as you really get a feel for Ireland here.
There are about 8 chalets (there could be more, I've forgotten! I assume they all sleep 4 as ours did) so book in advance to avoid disappointment. .
