We stayed for a night with 3 friends for a birthday celebration. The service is excellent, friendly and welcoming rather than formal from arrival until checkout. Our 3 rooms were together with amazing views of the lake, we were able to have drinks on our balcony as the sun set. The food in the restaurant is excellent - a great range of food all prepared to an exceptionally high standard. The only negative was the wine list. We felt it was limited and didn't match the quality of the food.

We had a massage and while the facilities a limited the staff were friendly and the massage was excellent. It's a pity there is no swimming pool etc

Room Tip: The rooms facing the lake are great. The sun setting over the lake is breathtaking.

We had heard so much about the Wineport from friends, all amazing reviews so we decided to book. We checked in, shown to our room, bathroom was amazing, stand alone bath and separate shower, nice view from the room, we had a massage, I thoroughly enjoyed mine but my partner thought it was mediocre. The facilities were very basic and perhaps does not merit the price list demanded.we had booked dinner for 8.30pm & went to the bar for a quick before, the bar staff have us the menu and we ordered are full meal. At 9pm someone from the restaurant came in and seated us at our table with a beautiful view onto the lake. The food could not be faulted, or the restaurant in any way... The ambiance, food and staff were spot on and exactly why the wineport is recommended so much.
However we did get this on a deal and if we had of paid full price on the suite t might be a slightly different review

First impressions of the hotel were that it was quite small but is set in a lovely location which is beautiful and relaxing. As this was a special trip we had paid extra for a lake view room with a balcony. We were shown to our room which was nicely decorated and modern. However when we went out to the balcony we were very disappointed. You could see the lake but only if you looked to the very left. Straight in front of us was two large hot tubs with people in them. Our plan when getting to the hotel was to get drinks from our minibar and relax on the balcony. This was impossible as we felt very uncomfortable looking straight at the people in the hot tubs. The hot tubs were also very noisy and took away the peace that we had gone for. I asked at reception if we could move to a room away from the hot tubs but unfortunately the receptionist wasn't very helpful and tried to move us to a non-balcony room with the same view of the hot tubs! We decided to make the most of it and just avoided our balcony. We instead had drinks in the more peaceful setting outside the bar which was very nice. Bar and restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. Had we have been in a better room or had a better experience with the receptionist this probably would have been five rather than 3. However, I'm not sure if I would return after this experience. If staying here just make sure your room is not near the hot tubs!

I was fortunate enough to be invited today to have breakfast by friends who are staying at the Wineport . There is very little anyone can say in praise of the full Irish Breakfast but the one I had here was exceptional . Beautifully cooked and presented plate of rashers , sausages , eggs , mushrooms , tomatoes and rosti left me seriously contented when I managed to consume all ! My hosts said their stay was a memorable experience commenting on the lovely lakeside setting , comfortable bedrooms and very good food they enjoyed the previous evening which was served by very attentive , professional staff .

Room Tip: Ask if room has an uninterrupted view of the lake .

Stayed here last night with my wife whilst on a motorcycle tour of Ireland. Well appointed clean air conditioned room with good facilities and a balcony overlooking the loch. Food on the lunch menu was good, we had a Caesar and a smoked salmon salad both of which were tasty. A liitle expensive, tea and coffee 4 euros each but good ambiance with friendly and attentive staff. Would stay again.

Room Tip: First floor room with a balcony overlooking the loch. Nice breeze at it was 27c.

We had a midweek over night stay and must admit we got fantastic value for our money, the room was lovely with our bed looking out over the water. Our room had a built in stereo system with music pre loaded on which really made for a very relaxing experience. Breakfast the next morning was delivered to the room on time and fresh.
My only comment is we found the food in the restaurant to be average, we had heard fantastic things but both felt disappointed.
But don't let this put you off, overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and we will be back again.

Lovely place & view and nice food, but if you have dietary restrictions, you constantly have to check if they have taken it into account. With both courses, they've missed something and if you want to check, one waiter says it possible, the other one not. They do correct mistakes, but it may be too late. Great wining and dining without dietary restrictions, but don't go here if you have some and want to have a relaxed dinner
