I have stayed with Ann and Eamonn on a number of occasions when fishing Lough Currane near Waterville. After sampling a number of other options in the area I can assure this is the place to stay. It's position overlooking the lake means you can actually check the conditions from your bed in some of the rooms. Invaluable for any fisherman contemplating an early start.
For the non-fishing visitor the highlights are, the view, the comfort of the rooms (check out the shower!) but particularly the breakfasts. Normally B&Bs are very restricted in the variety offer for breakfast. Not so here. Ann is a proffessionally trained chef and the variety and standard of the food exceeds any I have come across in years of fishing my way around Ireland.
While there, take the opportunity to quiz Eamonn on all the local heritage sites. His knowledge is a result of working at some of the most important sites in Ireland.

Stayed three nights in July while fishing on the famous Lough Currane.
Room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Bathroom was good with a very powerful shower.
The breakfast was excellent and the Full Irish Breakfast will keep you fed all day! The view from the dining room is breathtaking.
Anne and her family are very good hosts and I would definitely recommend Currane Lodge.

We had a family reunion at the lodge. It was a great week.
Ann was a very good host and gave us good local information. The trip out to the Skelligs was very good, nothing like it anywhere else.

We stayed in Ireland for 10 days and the night we spent at the Currane Lodge was the best one. Ann is really a wonderful host. She informed us about the what to see, she is better informed than every tourist information. Especially the hint on the Skellig peninsula was great. The rooms and especially the bath rooms are very nice.

The breakfast was served in the dining room providing a marvellous view on the Lough Currane. It was like a scene out of the storybook.

Ann, thank you very much for everything - we really enjoyed the snack you gave us for the day.

After a long flight and drive we arrive tired and weary , only to be greeted with the warmest of welcomes a glowing peat fire and simply the most unspoiled view of this beautiful landscape that one could imagine! Soon our tired bodies and spirit were both revived as we relaxed and soaked up the peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed a wonderful nights sleep to awake to the sound of the dawn chorus, fantastic!. The breakfast was equally pleasing with 10 different dishes to choose from including . pancakes, french toast, smoked salmon to the wholesome full Irish. All freshly cooked to order not to mention the scrumptious homemade scones, they were simply delicious. We were informed of all the local sights to visit and the best restaurants and pubs. It was a truly wonderful holiday and we will definitely be back again
