We tried this place as we saw people outside eating what looked like great fish and chips. Looks can be deceiving. What we got was ok but not great. Greasy fish and no seasoning in the batter. Tired salad leaves with chunks of red onion. Who eats that and why put it in a salad? Kerry were playing and TV was blaring. Sorry but could not recommend here for food.

“Burger and a beer! Burger and a beer! Mmmmmmmm!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Wow, all I can say is, WOW! What atmosphere! What good food!!

You know the place is swinging when it has local musicians, great food, and every table has a pint of stout (Guinness) on it! We sat right next to where the band was playing (one guy on the guitar, the second on the squeezebox!) and copped a great show! My burger (1 1/12" inches thick) was cooked to perfection (a/p my order) and the beer was excellent! My gf indulged in the scampi and was very impressed! I simply loved the spot, and was more impressed that even though they were deadly busy, we were never forgotten or left to wait! Ty staff for a great time!

“What ever happened to the magic in this place?!”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

I am a frequent visitor to waterville (2 weeks each year) so I would know the restaurants and hotels well. However in the past few years this restaurant and pub has just slipped from being absolutely fantastic to meh.

The food is alright but to be honest there is far better places in Waterville.
The outside seating is nice to sit on to look at the water and this is where we would grab a nice cold glass of bulmers but head else where if you are looking for great quality food.

“A real down home, authentic, Irish meeting place!”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

What a wonderful experience! We happened by this place whilst doing the "Ring of Kerry" driving tour in Co. Kerry. It was great timing as the musicians were playing live (well known in this resto/pub) that evening. We were treated to some great Irish music while waiting for drinks and food, and when those arrived, we were amazed! I had a burger, extremely good, well cooked to perfection and still juicy and moist! This was paired with a pint of Guinness, and I must say, the two went superbly together! My GF had breaded scampi, and according to her... , well, you can go read her review for that good tip! The staff were friendly, and overwhelmingly busy, but still did not neglect us in the slightest!

Great service! Amazing food! Traditional atmosphere/decor/hospitality/music! Good value! Beautiful location! On the ring of Kerry!

“Great Food, great service, great great great”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Ate there both nights we were in Waterville. Specials before 7pm while they last. Everything we tried was good. Atmosphere was good and they had live music one of the nights. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Would go again if we find ourselves back in Waterville!
