I ate here a few days ago after a glorious day's hillwalking on the Beara Peninsula. I had eaten here before and found the owner a bit on the pushy side, this time we had his equally pushy wife serving us. She barely gave us a chance to sit down, all we wanted was bar food but ended up eating off what seemed like a more expensive restaurant menu. My partner said his steak was ok but way overcooked (he ordered it medium rare) the potato and vegetables that came with it left a lot to be desired. My monkfish with scallops was bordering on inedible, it was difficult to tell which was which, the fish was like rubber, in fact I don't think that there were any scallops, though there were several pieces of scallop coral on the plate. I ate what I could but left half of it on the plate and most of the vegetables. Then the owners wife had the cheek to push raffle tickets on us before we left and made it really difficult to say no. I can only feel sorry for the tourists who end up here and get ripped off, they probaly never come back anyway, but that doesn't matter to the owners who have got their money from you. I'm sure some foreign tourist think that these people are really friendly, they're not. they're just pushy, they're not really interested in what you have to say just lining their own pockets.
