Less than a mile off the M1 Dublin Rd yet this hotel has its own spacious grounds and gardens which are a delight. We were four couples and the men enjoyed a round of golf on the18 hole course while us ladies ate a delicious lunch in the bar terrace- you can eat inside or out depending on the weather. It is so secluded and beautifully kept with large planters of geraniums. The original mansion house has retained all of its charm and the newly built rooms, leisure centre and function room do not detract from this- leisure centre is fabulous. We stayed half board and were treated to a 3 course dinner of the highest quality. The staff are friendly, polite, pleasant and efficiI do not usually bother to review a hotel but found everything about this stay to be perfect and think the hotel deserves to be highly recommended. They just seem to have got everything spot-on without being pretentious. I

What a beautifully bright, fresh hotel with glorious grounds, mixing old with modern. Spent one and a half days there at a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The service was exceptional, the rooms were utterly fantastic, bright and fresh and spacious. It all had such a lovely relaxed feel to it, even at such a huge wedding. We all were able relax in the patio area the following morning (and afternoon) soaking up the sun and having drinks and I wished we had booked in for another night. I shall return, hopefully in the near future. 160.00 Euro per night but one of the few places where I can say it was worth it.

We stayed here at the end of July for a family birthday celebration. It is a beautiful location. The rooms are spaceous and very comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful and as I have stayed a no of times before they always remember me and welcome me back and nothing is too much trouble. There is a great choice of food and the quality is second to none. They give very good size portions. There is a golf course and swimming pool and really I think nobody could go wrong staying here. I hope to continue to visit for many years to come.

Three day family break - absolutely no complaints - great leisure centre - great food - most welcoming staff. Wedding parties in a separate location - do not overwhelm rest of Hotel. To be highly recommended for all types of guests. We had three kids under 10 and no problems at all. Great value break. If only all Irish Hotels could be like this !!

We got married here on 11th March, we had such a wonderful day & weekend in this hotel. We would like to thank manager Chris Brayden & all the staff for all their help prior to the wedding & on the day.
The standard of food, accommodation & service is outstanding, we were overwhelmed & could not have asked for any more!!
Many Thanks

We have a small Golf society based in Co Armagh and we take a couple of outings each year. The group comprises guys from N.Ireland and our friends and colleagues in ROI
The general feedback on our society day in June 2011 at The ballymascanlon hotel was just fantastic. The course altough not overly long [Thats a good thing!] was just kept to the most immaculatye standard. The service and friendliess at the pro shop on arrival was superb & the meal when we finiished was great with the most attentive service.
This is a definite on our calendar for next year with some of the guys planning individual trips before then...
Highly recommended for a vist

My daughter Claire and husband Geoff had their wedding reception here on 28th May 2011.My wife Morag and I along with several guests stayed over on the night of the wedding. I can offer nothing but the highest praise to the Owner, Manager and Staff for the exemplary, helpful and professional way in which we were treated in the arrangements prior to the wedding, the wedding reception and on the overnight stay. Many guests remarked on the very attentive service of the waiters during the reception. The 5 course meal was high quality, delicious and plentiful. The hotel, its facilities and grounds were fabulous and everyone at the wedding was highly impressed.
Will definitely be back. Thanks once again for everything. Raymond Walker
