Owner description: St Patrick's Well is located near Clonmel a short distance south of the main Clonmel, Cahir road. It is an old religious site situated in a sheltered glen where a large volume of spring water continuously wells up from underground. The church was built in the seventeenth century, but there are traces of an even older building. Inside the walls is the tomb of Nicholas White of Clonmel who died in 1622. At the centre of the small lake is a weathered Celtic Cross which dates from early Christian times in Ireland.

This old well site nestles in a green cradle of trees and river just outside the beautiful town of Clonmel in Co.Tipperary. It has many legends associated with St. Patrick but its primary attraction for visitors now is the air of utter tranquillity and total peace. Just sit in the centre circle of the well area, surrounded by a deep green veil of quietness, the Comeragh mountains dreaming in the distance. Your mind will relax and your body will follow, and you leave feeling refreshed in body and spirit.

Ancient well, reputed to have links with St. Patrick. Has been renovated with funds from the Irish-Israel society of Los Angels under its Mayor Sam Yorty

St. Patrick's Well near Clonmel in Co. Tipperary is a place of tranquil beauty with nature all around. The old stone church ruin and the beautiful spring of healing water makes it a must to visit when in the area. The water flows on down to Marlfield lake, a bird and wild life sanctuary. The best parts of Ireland are in the country side. Magical and mystical.
