Myself and my Husband stayed here this weekend and we will book again when next in Tipperary. The place is clean friendly and in the middle of the town. It is modern but with an old fashioned welcome and friendliness.

The breakfast was the best we have had when staying anywhere in a long time and was beautiully presented

The guesthouse is spotless and the staff are first class making you feel welcome and at ease from the moment you arrive

Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Clonmel

Really enjoyed our stay at his unpretentious guest house/hotel. Our rooms very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. In particular the breakfast menu which was included in the room price was extensive and varied and a welcome change from the delicious but frequently repeated full Irish fry.

A hostel like B&B - very clean, simple but comfortable. We stayed on fourth floor so had to walk up five flights of stairs. That could be problematic if walking is difficult for you. Our room faced the street so was a bit noisy at first but we had no problem sleeping. Breakfast included a menu of wonderful Irish foods. It comes with the price of a room. Everything tasted homemade so that guests could try many different items. Owner and staff were very friendly and helpful with our questions. Celtic coffee was delicious!!!

A group of 11 of us were staying at Befani's and 8 of us arrived only at midnight (due to flights) We had forgotten to let the hotel know of our late arrival but there was no issue on their side for our late check in and the staff were very accomodating, even doing a quick tour to let us know where everything was and where to get our breakfast the following morning. After walking up a few flights of stairs (there is no lift) we found our room which was clean & tidy, a good size, with basic tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, nice WC and wardrobes/drawers with enough space for 2 people and wedding outfits etc! The free WI-Fi was handy and easy to connect to. This was especially handy for us foreigners as then we did not have to keep phoning/texting each other with a cost but could use skype to contact each other via the WI-FI while in the hotel vicinity.

The bed was comfy and we had plenty of space. The only issue I had with sleeping was that the windows are not doubleglazed and we heard traffic early the next morning (weekday) This appared to be rubbish collectors and other noisy vehicles. If you are a sound sleeper then you'll have no issue but for us light sleepers it was a little annoying.

Breakfast however made up for it and I quickly forgot about the rubbish collectors! The choice was great and the staff were more than happy to amend the menu for some of the vegetarians in our group. All in all I was so pleased with the hotel and would recommend it to all travellers! We had a great time!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the courtyard side or higher up

While travelling through Ireland we chanced to came across this wonderful place near the river in Clonmel. Our experience was such that we decided to stay one more night as originally planned just for the sheer enjoyment of it. Modern interior, most helpful friendly staff and - oh! - the food.... (be sure to try the seafoodplatter and don't miss the Australian Foundstone Shiraz rose....)

Aboslutely brilliant and worth every EUR 0.01!

I really enjoyed my stay at Befani's. The guesthouse was very well located, right in the centre of town. The staff were incredibly helpful, and - best of all - the breakfast was superb! There was a fantastic choice of foods, including home made scones, croissant, French toast, full Irish breakfast etc. etc.

I would say the only problems with Befani's are the large number of stairs (no lift), and the fact that the road at the front can be pretty noisy with revellers at the weekend. We were staying in room 8, the suite on the top floor, which was quite quiet, but I imagine that some of the rooms facing the front on lower floors might have been quite noisy.

In terms of location, service and breakfast, I would definitely recommend this.

We had been touring Ireland and mainly stayed in B&Bs so this was a little different. Nothing special about the rooms. Need some more artwork on the walls. The street had cars going along it at all hours. Shower was nice and hot.
The breakfast the next morning made up for the rooms though. The scones and croissants were homemade and fabulous. Our server was also wonderful. She was very helpful and friendly.
