“A small town lunch”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

We found Ryan's Daughter in Cashel later than the usual lunchtime.
It is a very small charming restaurant with tables reserved mostly for local families and workers.
All were greeted by name. We were lucky to find seats. For a fixed price of 10 euros several huge meals were offered: roast meats with 3 scoops of mashed potatoes and 3 vegetables, currried chicken, fish cakes, lasagna and more.
After seeing our reaction to the portions, the owner(?) offered us half-portions also.
A small centrally located refrigerator had a glass door showcasng several home made desserts. Our chocolate cake covered with fudge sauce, whipped cream and raspberry coulis was the best ever!

“Unexpected surprise”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

We passed through Cashel without knowing much about it. A local recommended Ryan's Daughter for lunch. We were very happy we went there.
The small cafe was packed and busy, but the kind, upbeat staff kept everyone happy. Our lunch was plenty filling to be the BIG meal of our day. A board listed a number of very Irish meals. One of us had fish pie (Americans: similar to chicken pot pie) = delicious! The other enjoyed bacon and cabbage. Both of us had a number of sides: mashed potatoes, mashed carrots, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed turnips. All wonderful.
Highly recommeded.

“Best scones ever!”
Reviewed 23 May 2013

If you have the privilege of stopping in Cashel, be sure to have a fruit scone here. For 2 euro it comes warm and fresh and a side of cream and jam...superb. The smell of the other cooking takes me back to home cooking. Coupled with strong coffee, you warmed us up on such a windy day on the rock! Thanks!

“Quick stop in Cashel”
Reviewed 6 May 2013

Made a quick stop in Cashel today. Went to Ryans Daughter. Very busy little cafe with very friendly and attentive staff. We had soup and sandwiches, lovely and fresh. They had very good choices for lunch and it all looked good at nearby tables. This cafe does not pretend to be something it is not. Good home cooked food at reasonable prices.
