From the minute you arrive to this beautiful b and b you are made to feel like family from Peggy Jim and Daisy. The rooms are spotless and comfy. Lovely bathrooms and showers. They have a lovely covered outdoor area where you can sit and chat whilst enjoying the beautiful view of Hore Abbey. Its only a short stroll into Cashel town.Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choice and no request was never turned down. I have no problem recommending Peggy o Neills B&B. Its a little gem ! Daisy is the star of the show

After an airport wait of over 4 hours for lost luggage, Peggy and Jim's welcome and beautiful B&B could not have been more perfect. They made our party of 6 comfortable right away by treating us like visiting friends rather than guests. Daisy, their wonderful and very well behaved boxer made us smile and laugh and gave us a lot of dog love. The rooms were large and comfortable with nice bathrooms and showers. Their place has ample parking and is a short walk to town which has plenty of places to eat in a variety of price ranges. Breakfast was wonderful with a full and varied continental breakfast bar with some wonderful cheeses set up that we could enjoy while waiting for our perfectly fried full Irish Breakfast. My daughter commented on how much she loved the granola that Peggy had set out and where we could purchase it. Peggy gave her all the information and then gave her a full bag of it to take with us!
Thank you Peggy, Jim and Daisy for making the start of our Ireland trip absolutely perfect!

We stayed one night to faciliate an early start to walk in Galtymore Mountain. Found the B&B no problems, got a fantastic welcome on arrival at 2130hrs from Peggy with a huge pot of tea and some swiss roll, just the ticket after a long drive down. House was spotless, room was clean, tidy, comfortable and shower was great. Jim made us a lovely home cooked breakfast to set us up for a day on the hill and it was absolutely no trouble for him when we asked if he could make us up a sandwich to take with us. A lovely couple and a great place to stay if you are in the area, or if you are travelling down from the North on the way to Galtymore. Thank you Jim and Peggy you were just great and we wish you all the best in future. Will definitely stay again if were in the area.

I cannot find the adequate words of high praise for Peggy O’Neill’s B&B in Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland. The rooms offer all the warm and clean home style amenities one could ask for. The food is great and a guest will lack for nothing. The hosts are the most hospitable and welcoming people I’ve known. Their hard work and attention to detail for the guests does not escape notice and is greatly appreciated. It was like staying with caring family. The house is perfectly designed with good parking to allow the guests to enjoy the facilities or use as a base from which to explore the area. The views of the pasture and ruins of an ancient abbey from the back of the property are absolutely amazing. It is ideally situated within a short walking distance to local attractions, restaurants, and pubs. I hired a car and it stayed park because we walked everywhere. I would recommend this B&B to anyone without reservation and I hope to make a return visit.

This B&B is actually the lovely home of the owner, Peggy, Jim and the sweet dog, Daisy. It is itself a beautiful historical house. Consists of 5 rooms only. I stayed in a double room with small en-suite bathroom. The bedroom overlooked an amazing green view beyond the spacious yard. The bed was comfortable. The shower was nicely hot and strong. There was a guest living room where upon arrival, Peggy offered a pot of hot tea to drive off the cold. I tried the full Irish breakfast for the first and only time. God, it was so deliciously that I finished everything. The dining room was sunny and bright. There were so many potteries in the whole cupboard. They formed the feeling of warm home.

I loved Jim's recommendation of restaurants, attractions and shops. They were so nice to show me their own collection of Irish crystal and potteries in their own private living room. Each piece had its own story how to come to this specific home. The chat was most lovely and warm in the morning or evening sharing the day's adventure.

Cashel may not be as famous as Cork. But the rock's natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere are completely different and well worth a visit. If you happens to visit, a stay with Peggy and Jim will certainly add to your highlight. Highly recommended. I wish to come back.

Oh! Book ahead to secure your room.

This was great place to stay. The rooms were kind of small, but clean & adequate. Very close to the Rock of Cashel - within walking distance - and the ruins of the abbey were practically in the backyard. The owner was very chatty, friendly, gave good advice on tourist options. He allowed us to stay parked at the B&B while we walked up to Cashel for the day. Very good filling breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in September 2013. There is plenty of parking in the front of the building. When we arrived, we were greeted by Peggy and Jim. They were great hosts and we got to meet their dog, who was super friendly! They showed us around the B&B and to our room, which was on the first floor in the back with a view of the abbey. It was very surreal to be able to look out our window and see the abbey, it was great! Jim let us know before leaving us that we should walk to the Rock of Cashel in the morning, when we had planned to visit it. He said that we could even leave our car at the B&B the next day after we checked out so that we didn't have to pay for parking at the Rock. Our room was small but very new and clean. The bathroom was the same - small, but new and clean. The dining room where breakfast was served was very nice and they had a great spread of food and drink. I think it was my favorite in all the B&Bs that we stayed at in Ireland. They had plenty of juices - even apple juice, which no other B&B had. They had cereals, fruits, breads, and cheeses too. We had some of all of this in addition to our hot Irish breakfast. Very delicious.

Overall, this is a really great spot if you are in the area and trying to see the Rock of Cashel. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back that looks out at the abbey!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Peggy O'Neill's is a charming family run bed and breakfast located on the Golden road, three minutes walk from the centre of Cashel. Peggy has been welcoming guests into her home for over a decade and she provides homely yet very comfortable accommodation and huge hearty breakfasts at a very reasonable price. Peggy's is a 3 minute walk from the centre of Cashel Town and a 10 minute walk from the Rock of Cashel.Peggy O'Neill's unique selling point is the wonderful view of Hore abbey from the back of the property. Hore Abbey (also Hoare Abbey, sometimes known as St.Mary's) is a ruined Cistercian monastery near the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland.'Hore' is thought to derive from 'iubhair' – yew tree. The former Benedictine abbey at Hore was given to the Cistercians by Archbishop David MacCearbhaill (in 1270), who later entered the monastery. He endowed the Abbey generously with land, mills and other benefices previously belonging to the town. The story, beloved of tour-guides, that he evicted the Benedictines after a dream that they were about to kill him, is unlikely to be true and probably arises from the Archbishop's 'interference' with the commerce of the city of Cashel. His disfavour of the established orders in Cashel certainly caused local resentment. He was resented by some of the towns-people, being considered too much in favour of the Irish by the more Anglicised. This is evident in the objection by the thirty-eight local brewers to the levy of two flagons out of every brewing and in the murder of two monks who were visiting the town. ... more   less
