“Overpriced ruins”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014 via mobile

Family ticket 14 euros to walk around a graveyard and some half remaining walls - maybe guided tour would be good but does not necessarily suit travellers with young kids. They should think about charging less for entry and charging for the guided tour separately.

“The "ROB" of Cashel!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

Your visit here starts with getting robbed of 4.50 euro for parking. As you continue your walk up to the rock, you will be held up for 6 euros per person, cash only!! As one of the previous reviewers noted, some of the personnel were rude. We had a problem getting out of the car park and the attendant was extremely rude. So much for the warm, welcoming Irish locals. If you've spent any time in Ireland, you've seen enough churches, castles and ruins that you can definitely afford to skip this one. It's definitely not worth the trip! The only bright spot from our visit was Granny's Coffee Shop. The proprietor went out of her way to assist us and the coffee was great too!!

“Under renovation but still amazing”

While the main chapel is under renovation and covered by scaffolding, the site is open and you can get into all parts of the grounds.

“A highlight of the trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

The ruins are impressive and the piece that makes the experience fabulous is the tour. You must go on a tour with the knowledgeable guides to really go back in time.

“Great Views and Great Guides”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

Make sure you get a tour, the guides are knowledgeable and the history is long and interesting. The views of the surrounding area are spectacular. (Of course our younger ones did not appreciate it, but the tour moves around a lot so they won't get too bored.)
