“Cute and great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2014

Everyone in this cute little town was so friendly and kind. We enjoyed our stay at this nice little b&b. It was within walking distance to everything including the church ruins. Only con was the springy-uncomfortable bed, but it was only 1 night so it was fine.

Great location & very friendly. Older home converted but good value for money. Only stayed one night and had no complaints for this B&B. night consider the private rooms in the back for longer stays. Cute little town!

Room Tip: No elevator and steep stairs so pick a room based on your luggage

Off the bat, first thing in the door I was asked for the cash up front before even seeing our room.

The room was cold w/ spots on the walls and ceilings. There was no remote for the tiny TV. The bed creaked and springs popped w/ every movement. The promised free wi-fi was not even plugged in.

We toughed out the night. In the morning we went down to search out where we were to go to eat breakfast. Once I found the lady of the house I was told that the fee of 65 euro I had paid already DID NOT INCLUDE BREAKFAST!!! How can someone call them selves a Bed & Breakfast and not serve breakfast? Buyer be ware!

PJ Q, Owner at Cashel Town Bed and Breakfast, responded to this review, 23 January 2014
Hi there,

First off, our team at Cashel Town B&B would like to apologise for your less than satisfactory experience with us.

We always try to make sure our guests have a cozy and comfortable stay at our B&B and it is unfortunate that you did not bring up your concerns during your stay with us for we would have addressed it immediately.
Our heating is usually switched on in the evening until the next morning. We would even turn up the heat and offer our guests extra duvets upon request.
We have also looked into the WiFi problem, and it is running fine after restarting the router. :)

With regards to the breakfast, there could have been some confusion as we do serve breakfast contrary to what you have mentioned.
During the booking process on our website or Booking.com, our guests have the option to choose whether they would like to include breakfast in their reservation.
We do have guests who prefer to have breakfast in the many lovely restaurants nearby and thus leaving that option out.
In your case, the breakfast option was not included in your booking but we are always more than happy to cook up a meal for our guests who decide at the last minute that they would love to try our Irish breakfast. :)

Once again, we apologise for your unpleasant experience.
We wish you would have shared your concerns with us on the day of your stay so that it could be addressed and resolved immediately.
Nonetheless, thank you for taking time out to share your thoughts with us as we always believe in improving ourselves to serve our guests better.
Thank you and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again the next time you're in Cashel. :)

Best Regards,
PJQ

My stay here was great. I was welcomed into the B&B by PJ the owner. He made us feel very welcome as he asked us about our travels (not like most owners who give us the keys and walk away). He also gave us brochures on where to eat and what to do in Cashel. I found this very helpful as I hadn't done much research about Cashel before I came.
The rooms were clean , comfy and spacious. It was great value for money. I also used facilities from the hostel next door which is also run by PJ. The barbeque was a great plus.
The location was perfect for roaming around the town by foot.
It was perfect and the hospitality couldn't have been greater. I will definitely be returning!

My daughter and i stayed 2 nights in a self-catering apt. which was a very clean recent addition. The location is convenient to The Rock and pubs with good food and entertainment. PJ made us very welcome and also knew many of the people we were visiting in the area. We did not do the inclusive breakfast so cannot comment, but did enjoy a delicious breakfast at Cashel Palace Hotel and The Bakery, both nearby. Wifi available and a comfortable lounge to relax in. Would definitely stay there again.

We happened to stumble across this b&b and so glad we did.PJ the owner was very obliging to have us stay at his humble abode. Rooms are comfortable and extremely spacious. Around €80 for three people including a cooked breakfast. He also own a well run hostel next door for the budget travellers. PJ was very informative in regards to what Cashel had to offer. Showing us some parts of of Cashel personally. He even has his own horse and cart tour he can take you around town on for a small fee. We were lucky enough for him to show us how the local farming community live by inviting us to be apart of his daily calf and cow feeding routine on his private farm. It was something we never expected to do on our trip and a great experience my family will never forget.

My sister and I arrived here after flying overnight from Newark to Shannon. It being our first night in Ireland, we didn't have any other B&Bs with which to compare this one. In comparison to this others we stayed at during our trip, this one was the most "no frills" - the breakfast was good but simple and we had two private rooms, but a shared bath. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. The hosts were friendly enough. The place is a good value for the money. My only complaint was a broken plastic screen in the bathroom window - we wound up sticking a washcloth in it to block the chilly breeze.
