Stayed here for three weeks while working in the area and after reading the rave reviews this place gets, I can only conclude that they are fake.
This hotel is badly in need of a refurbishment. The stairs and upstairs floors all sag and creak quite alarmingly, the carpets are all thin and worn and the walls and ceilings of the rooms are so paper thin that you can clearly hear every noise and conversation in the surrounding rooms. The beds are terrible and leave one with backache, while the bathrooms are shabby, grubby and only produce lukewarm water. Tiny TVs , no safes, ironing facilities or decent lighting complete the room features. The breakfast is poor, being the usual Irish hotel offering of half raw bacon, sausages with so little pork in them that they're probably kosher, watery eggs along with awful tea and coffee. In three weeks I never managed to get any toast, all they could seem to manage was warm bread. I saw one member of staff on several mornings going straight from cleaning toilets to serving breakfast, while another never bothered to write down orders and so was constantly forgetting them or bringing them to the wrong table. I'll not bother trying to think of any outstanding good points, I'll just advise you to stay somewhere else.More
