We came to the falls because we had heard it was beautiful and it didn't disappoint!
It was a dry summer so the falls weren't as big as they are in the spring but still, when you're from PEI they are wonderful to watch and listen to! Lots of picnic tables so take a lunch and enjoy. We did the 401 steps and they weren't as bad as we though although, in truth, it's much easier going down than coming back up!! To view the gorge it's free. To do the steps it's $5.00 a person plus tax and you sign in and out. That part is about 30 mins unless you are like me and a person who has to stop and take pictures all the time!

Stunning falls, viewing spot with adjacent parking in downtown Grand Falls. No walking at all, so very accessible for people with mobility issues. If you're making a special trip, take the time to find out how many of the dam gates are open as this affects how impressive the waterfall is.

Great 15 minute stop, with the New Brunswick tourist info centre right there. Located right downtown so very easy to get to. No hiking required. Best view was from inside the tourist info centre, or outside on the boardwalk near the parking lot.

Water flow wasn't the greatest in August, so the falls were more mediocre.

Beautiful place but not grand. We went in August and the falls were barely flowing so your mileage may vary depending on the time of year. The information centre has the best views and it is still gorgeous and with the visit.

It was time for an afternoon break from driving and I struck gold. In just a very few minutes, Pat at the visitor center gave me a map, pointed out a beautiful hike I could take, showed me where I could get the ice cream I so desperately needed, and connected me with a most delightful campground. Thanks, Pat. I feel like I'm in heaven. Oh, and did I mention that the falls are rushing by right outside my bedroom window?!
