Stayed for a wedding, the scenery is gorgeous, the staff wonderful, and the rooms we stayed in the A block were quite new with modern furnishings and a very comfortable bed. We had a small terrace and the view in the morning was spectacular. Would highly recommend for great scenery and romantic views very close drive to cork city area.

You do not spoil a calm and serene romantic setting such as Innishannon House Hotel by sitting in front of the telly, please, too much to enjoy around you, the walks, the coming and going of the tide, the garden, the wild life, how many red squirrels have you seen? and then there is the heron, the moorhens, the elegants of the swans and the salmon leaping teasingly as to say "try and catch me" - we have stayed here on a number of occasions now and found the staff and management to be more than helpful - and cant wait for another visit to come along. Addicted to its charm, just try and keep me away................

Unless you are booking a wedding, don't even try to get accommodations here. They won't be at all interested in your business. That may apply to other months (May perhaps) as well

They have a small number of rooms, which seems to prevent them from handling anything other than one wedding at any given time during "prime wedding season".

Yes we are a Country House with fewer rooms than the larger hotels and our main business is weddings during peak season and as a country house we only cater for one wedding at a time. As I stated to your colleague in the previous review we were unfortunately unable to cater for your needs.

This house-hotel is beautiful, and has lovely grounds with gardens and water, but the "loveliness" ends there. If you are not a guest of a wedding at this house-hotel, and are instead just a regular guest, you will not feel valued in the least bit. This house-hotel caters to weddings (clearly evidenced by the large reception room and dinner/bar areas), and the management seems to care little about anyone else who is not associated with a wedding.
My family and I wanted to book some rooms (a year ahead of time), and were told there was absolutely availability on the dates we wanted, but then were emailed to be told they had to hold those rooms *just in case* anyone booked them for a wedding (a wedding that did not yet exist on the dates we were told there was availability!). I am APPALLED that a hotel would state availability, but then would say they can't accommodate us because there is a POSSIBILITY of a wedding party wanting those rooms.

Firstly I am disappointed that you felt that you still had to write this review. I was open and honest with your group from the start , yes we did have availability , but on reflection a group of 11 to 20 people booking out the main hotel accommodation for a whole weekend is unfortunately not viable for us . I suggested alternatives arrangements regarding dates but I understand that they were not suitable for you.

This hotel has a beautiful location but is in dire need of refurbishing. Our room was drab and grubby with a bathroom that needed re tiling and a good clean. Light fittings were broken and the tv reception was poor, or the aerial was not connected. Staff were pleasant and obliging but a bit armature in their service standards.

We didn't have a car so we ate in the hotel, the menu was limited and the food standard very poor from a limited menu.

Not high on my list to re visit

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

We thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit with us. I am sorry that you were not impressed with our facilities. I don't know if weather you outlined your disappointment to reception at the time in question, but we might have been able to offer you an alternative room if available.
I am also disappointed to hear that our service and menu selection was not to your liking. We will do our own internal audit to rectify the issues that you underlined.

Regards

Shane Roche.
