“Dundrum Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

We stayed at this hotel on a 5 day National holidays tour. The rooms were very large and decorated very well. The staff were very helpful and friendly. When we came back from our trips we used to sit on the sofas looking out over the golf course while we surfed the net, it at least kept us out if our rooms and it became a meeting place for a few of the people on our trip. The food was excellent and congratulations should go to the chef who did a wonderful job. A big thanks also to Sharon who organised a quiz for us and looked after my mum (who has dementia) with fantastic understanding. She also provided a bottle of champagne to a couple on their wedding night off the cuff, a lovely gesture. Our one disappointment was the entertainment. My mum looks forward to the music so she can dance, but we only had entertainment on one night and he did not interact with the audience. The hotel was also miles from Cashel, so we could not walk into town for a drink. We did use the hotel bar and the club house, but these were quite expensive, the club house being slightly cheaper than the hotel. We had very little time to visit the pool etc., as we were too busy, so cannot comment, but were told by others that did use the facilities, that they were very good.

Room Tip: Wifi in public areas only. Family rooms are massive.

Stayed here recently with family (wedding) for two nights. We booked into one of the lodges as the hotel itself was full.

The hotel itself is full of charm and is a beautiful setting for any occasion. The staff were very polite and professional and did a very good job.

We ate in the function room on the first night and the food was excellent as was the service, top class. My only complaint was they had no heineken on tap and the bottles from the bar were warm.

We also had a meal in the venue, bar/restaurant/club house, on the second night this was good nothing spectacular pretty much good standard pub grub.

The leisure facilities are also very good but could do with an cosmetic upgrade the area is let down by tired and dated looking decor, some paint and a spot of re-grouting would go along way again the staff here we very nice as they were through-out the stay.

The lodges/houses are right next door to the hotel so their location was ideal. They are well equipped, spacious living/dining area, bathroom down stairs and had 3 spacious well decorated
rooms upstairs all en-suite. The only issue i had through-out the stay was with the bed and bedding. The double beds were really uncomfortable and did not lend to a good nights sleep. The bedding was something akin to 1970's bedding, the blanket provided looked and felt as if it was made from attic insulation!!! Some investment is definitely required here.

All told, that is the only complaint I had and I would recommend this hotel as everything else was spot-on and the staff were excellent through-out the stay.

Having just returned from Dundrum House Hotel after a family wedding we had a great stay in the hotel. The food was exceptional and in particular we were served by a wonderful waitress called Margaret for breakfast the morning after the wedding. Her kindness and service was most welcoming.
The hotel grounds are an added bonus along with the leisure centre which my three children and husband used. The baby pool was nice and warm which is not often the case.
Overall, a great stay and would certainly return. Sandra /Tipperary

Room Tip: The rooms are very spacious, great when travelling with children. Some rooms had a jacuzzi bath.

Just home from a family wedding in Dundrum House and would like to compliment the hotel on the care and service they showed to all the guests. The wedding meal was superb! What a menu and each meal presented as if it had been individually prepared. PJ the chef and Dan can take a well deserved bow, the staff were courteous, efficient and discreet. The reception staff were warm and welcoming, Kieran managed large numbers of check-ins and check-outs with ease. The breakfast was delicious and individual needs catered for - the home made brown bread and yogurt were super as was the locally produced hot food. Margaret was a cheerful and delightful hostess and oversaw our every need. We felt at home in this gracious and laid back surroundings. Thank you Dundrum House.

Stayed 2 nights 2/4 July with hubby & 3 kids. It was like walking into Aladdin's cave every room you walked into was a hidden treasure. Warm friendly staff from reception to the lovely Margaret who served us breakfast both mornings & excellent dinner in the evening. Would highly recommend for a family stay.
