“Valentine's Special Weekend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2010

Just stayed at the Dundrum House Hotel for their Valentine's Special Weekend Deal with my boyfriend. It was €109 pps for two nights including a dinner. Was very impressed with this hotel. It reminded me of an old stately home but had a lovely cosy, warm atmosphere. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our bedroom was huge, more like a suite with a little sitting room area. The hotel itself is set in the middle of the golf course which means it's really peaceful and you have lovely views from every window. The dinner was lovely and even included a complimentary glass of champagne, a red rose and some little chocolate hearts. A nice touch! Not much in Dundrum town itself but Cashel only few miles away and hotel has bars, spa, golf and a leisure centre. Overall, enjoyed our stay in the hotel and would recommend if you want a realaxing break away from it all!!

From the time we arrived our welcome was met with hospitality & a warm welcome. Room was very spacious clean & cosy. We happened to arrive on the Thursday & experienced a great traditional dance night with the locals who come to enjoy the dance & craic we believe they have been enjoying for the last 40 years! (Graet Night) What a golf course, a must for all golfers. Many thanks again to all staff.

Great hotel with good rooms, good food and excellent service. Compliments to Margaret who served a very busy dining room while giving everyone personal attention and always smiling. Beautiful golf course where we got a very warm welcome from Ewan the Pro and Mick the Club President. The hospitality of these gents was outstanding and they are fantastic ambassadors for Dundrum House. Their personal touches made our stay the most enjoyable ever, so much so that we have decided to go back again for our next break away.

Here's the short version.... there was a smell of sewerage (mixed with air freshener) in the lobby... our room was top left in the original house - there was a live bat asleep in the bathroom sink (with his head down the plughole!) HE STARTED TO WAKE WHEN I TRIED TO WASH MY HANDS - I know - they sleep hanging upside down... I don't think he could stand the sight of the place either! The room smelled musty. The four foot six 'double' bed looked sunken in the middle and had bedclothes that looked at least 25 years old (my wife wants you to know that they smelled too) although to be fair the sheets were fresh. We complained and were given the choice of another two rooms in another part of the hotel (not the original house - several minutes walking down long windowless narrow corridors). They were both really old and small (permanent stains on the bath tub). I washed my hands and we decided to tough it out. We went back to reception to find that the restaurant wasn't available but we could eat in the golf clubhouse. When we got there they couldn't seat us at a proper table because they were getting ready for a function for 180 people. In the end we headed into Cashel - there we found the excellent Bailey Hotel - we checked in (went back for bags) and had a lovely evening. By the way, the restaurant in The Bailey Hotel is excellent too. If you know Dromoland Castle then you can think of Dundrum House Hotel as it's poor (and very shabby, smelly) relation.

We had our wedding in Dundrum House hotel in Aug 09 and we had a great time. I can only say good about the hotel, the service was great all the way up to the wedding and especially on the day. The food was great and really commented on by all of our guests and the surroundings & beautiful setting are second to none. I would highly recommend for a wedding or weekend away.

Had a fantastic weekend with friends at the Murder Mystery Weekend in Dundrum House Hotel. No expense was spared with excellent food, Mulled wine reception, spacious rooms. Staff soo friendly and extremely helpful, could not do enough for us. I am a Vegetarian and had the best food in any hotel I have been to in Ireland to date. The "Murder" was soo well acted and such fun we laughed a lot. Disco in the cellar had a fantastic DJ who went with the crowd (catering for our Fancy Dress Costumes).
Would highly recommend this hotel and its great leisure centre.
Though I am not a golf player some of our friends played and thought the course was fantatic.

We had our wedding in Dundrum and I have to say that there is not 1 thing I could fault. From day one when we first walked into Dundrum we knew it was the venue for us...we were made feel so welcome, everything we wanted was provided for and the staff could not have done more for us!! The food on the day was excellent, my family and friends are still raving about it, it was absolutly delicious and was served so quick. The rooms were fantastic, so comfortable and cosy we didnt want to leave! The grounds in Dundrum are second to none and the pictures no doubt will be amazing !! I would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married...it was so perfect in every way and we are so greatful to all the wonderful staff in Dundrum for helping us ensure that all enjoyed our day!! We will never forget it!!!

We will be back!!!!
