We (my husband and I) stayed at the Nesbitts Arms in April 2012 and would recommend the hotel to others. We didn't have reservations as our self driving tour (which we did without vouchers) was open-ended I had a list of possible places in the Ardara area and when we pulled into town around 5pm after a full day of sights and travel, we decided to try the Nesbitt because of its convenient in- town location. The hotel has on street parking only which was full and we found a spot in the municipal lot nearby. If you have mobility issues that may be a drawback. Liam was at the front desk, and we found quickly that he wears many hats including holding the pub duties. His professionalism, friendliness, recommendations and insight concerning many topics we were interested in discussing were truly a highlight of our trip. He is the real deal and is an asset to the establishment. The room was average in size and the building itself is older so don't expect a moden feel of the cookie cutter newly constructed hotels. However the room was big enough for a couple double beds and a twin, which we didn't need but nice to know if you are traveling with kids it's a good setup. The tv and stand looked dated but really, with the beautiful beach, trails and attractions who would be needing a TV. The bathroom was updated and supplies and towels were neatly arranged and plentiful. The breakfast included in the 79£ rate was wonderful (is any Irish breakfast not?). We spent time wandering around Ardara and visited other restaurants and pubs, but ended our evening at the Nesbitt with Liam and a nice group of gentlemenin the area for an annual golf trip. We both enjoyed their company for an hour or so, and my husband stayed up with the guys into the wee hours. The room was quiet but it was off season and the festival was the weekend prior so things were more low key. We stayed one night but wished we had more time, and when (not if) we return we wil be at the Nesbitt Arms.
