“Superb lunch”
Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

Had lunch here today & thoroughly enjoyed it.
Service was attentive without being overly so.
Nice choice of open sandwiches, soup, chowder and main courses.
The waiter brought a selection of breads to the table which is a nice touch.
I had the salmon which was as beautifully flavoured as it was presented. It was served with a side of mash and some vegetables.
At €12.95 I considered it to be excellent value (mains all priced between €10 and €14).
The standard of service, presentation and not least quality of the food itself means I'll be going out of my way to get back to the Boathouse again.

“A meal/experience to remember for a lifetime!!!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014 via mobile

We were staying a couple nights in Oranmore (from Canada) and were looking for a place to eat but had some trouble because places seem to stop serving food early but came across The Boathouse and were incredibly thankful we did. We are still convinced it may be the best experience we've had. Thanks to Evan and Allen we not only had the most amazing meal ever, we had an equally comparable experience.

The setting is quiet and romantic. They brought bread and butter to start in addition to the mussels we ordered (perfect and we may or may not have drank the sauce like soup afterwards it was so delicious) which were incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. We had the lamb with with legumes and spring veggies. Can't say anything except it was perfection and the lamb was so tender it fell apart before the fork could even touch it. We also had the fish and chips with homemade tarter sauce. We've had enough of this dish to say confidently we've never had better. And that tarter sauce..... There was nothing left. Unfortunately we had more food than we should have (and certainly more than we had room for) and couldn't squeeze dessert in but they kindly brought us a couple of bite sized desserts/truffles to sample. Absolutely an amazing experience well worth anyone's time and money. It would probably be mid range price for UK natives so for us Canadians it was pretty expensive but one of the best money we've spent on a meal and we'd do it again in a heartbeat. In fact we even tried rearranging our schedule the next day so we could return but couldn't quite manage it. Definitely try to visit this gem! Will be a meal and experience to remember! Oh and it should be noted that they only use fresh local ingredients of course. Thanks again to Evan and Allen!!!

We visited the restaurant on the last day of our holiday on 11th April 2014. The atmosphere, food and service were exceptional.

We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area or even just out of area as it really is worth the trip.
