“Spectacular show; great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

This was the first bird of prey show I had been at in Ireland, having attended a few abroad. This show was superior to any previous shows I had attended in that the staff are openly passionate about the animals, their well-being and the edcuation of people to understand how wonderful and necessary are birds of prey.

The show is very good and allows for everyone to interact with the birds as they fly. It is amazing to see these majestic creatures in flight and to see how they behave.

The educational aspects of the centre is wonderful and it has made me realise that there are alot of current programmes in place to protect native birds of prey and re-introduce species hunted to local extinction.

“Not just another bird show”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

Full disclosure: we love bird shows. Having said that, we found this one to be a cut above the rest. The handlers are absolutely passionate about birds and it shows. The show was as informative as it was entertaining, and what's more they have a point of view. Best of all was audience participation. Anyone who wanted could have a go at letting a hawk alight on your arm, of course guided by the handler, but still. What a thrill! The exhibits were equally informative and we just loved the involvement of volunteers and interns. Highly recommended. If you have to choose between the cave and the birds by all means choose the birds.

“Birds everywhere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

The birds of prey centre has a wide variety of birds, and it is free to walk through. Can't beat that since it adds to a trip to the Aillwee Cave, located just up the hill. There are some large eagles, hawks and owls in cages all around you. There are also several hawks, to be handled, that are resting inside shelters as you pass by. Good opportunity to see these birds up close.

“Well worth the visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

My son and I visited the centre twice during our trip to the Burren as he had enjoyed his first visit so much. The display was well structured with just the right amount of relevent information which the audience, of all ages, could follow. Questions were welcomed and answered clearly by the very friendly staff. The stars of the day of course were the birds...especially Henry and Dyson, the resident vultures . A great day out for the family, along with a trip to the neigjbouring Ailwee Caves.
