Really enjoyed the Aillwee Cave tour when in Clare recently. Took me a couple of minutes to shake off feeling claustrophobic but really enjoyed the tour. Very informative and really fascinating! If I had any complaint it would be that perhaps people with babies and small children should be discouraged as it was sometimes hard to hear the guide over screaming and crying kids who didn't want to be there!

All visitors are guided, which is good Some parts of the path were not very well lighted. But a railing is there for the entire walk through. The guide stops at 6 places to describe the various formations.

Very much enjoyed our trip into the cave. Don't forget to take a jacket with you, even in the warmer weather.

Family day to Aillwee Caves, can be expensive for what it is, but def worth the trip. We used our tesco clubcard vouchers, so only had to pay 10euros towards entry for a family of five. The caves are amazing, the pure size of them and even the story of how they were discovered, my children found it very interesting.
Very cold, obviously, so wear a heavy jumper or coat. Lovely gift shop after and you could def pick up a little souviner for less than 5 euros for the children. All in all I would recommend the caves, beautiful surroundings and lovely little villages and towns nearby

We were a family of four that had a stopover a the cave before going to cliffs of Moher. It is a perfect addition to a daytrip to the cliffs, especially for the kids. We only West to the caves but there is also a seperate birds of prey exhibition. The guided Tour is both funny and very interesting. It takes about half an hour.
