The garden was begun in 1999 and has been specifically designed to 'blend' into, and incorporate it's surrounding landscape. There are several noteable collections including Brunnera, Galanthus, Ferns, Hostas, Primula,Arisaema, and crocosmia. The garden includes a section of the Caher river, ponds and water features. There are interesting design elements, and a wealth of creative stonework including a 'Moon Window' built from local stone. It has been featured in many magazines, newspapers and is included in the book "The top 100 Gardens of Ireland" The garden is open from March to November, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please ring for details. All visits are by guided tour. Photography is allowed. Unfortunately the garden is NOT suitable for children under 16 years.

“Highlight of our holiday”

We had been told about this garden and stopped to look over the bridge at the part visible from the road. A tour was about to start and we were invited to join it, what a wonderful experience. Everything that Carl has achieved is admirable, his commitment and vision are legendary, but more than that, his enthusiasm and obvious love for his garden are a total joy.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2012

We visited this facinating garden in august this year and in was the best couple of hours in our holiday. We were given a guided tour by owner designer and builder Carl who took time to explain all we needed to know on the history and how the garden and plants have evolved. well worth the 5euros each Pat&pat

“Amazing garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2012

Completed by one guy around his restored stone house, this garden - still a work-in-progress will amaze you with its variety, beauty and artistic display. It's totally worth the nominal 5 euro charge/person for the private tour.
