“Beautiful house in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 13 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

From the moment we arrived we were taken aback by how perfect everything was. The house itself is stunning and caters for everything you could ever want. 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and enough space to lose the children in! Add to that the wood fired hot tub and sauna...what more do you need!
Location is peaceful and quiet, Ballyvaughan itself is the friendliest place I've ever been!
Ciara, thank you for letting us stay in your perfect home and thank you for your hospitality.

“What's not to love?”
Reviewed 28 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We had a wonderful week, thankfully helped along by warm weather and blue skies every day, but also because the house and surrounding area are really wonderful. We travelled as a large extended family with 4 young children. The house was beautifully designed, spacious, clean, well equipped with well sized bedrooms, ample attractive bathrooms and had the wonderful bonus of the hot tub and sauna in a pretty woodland sanctuary. The location of the house is secluded which makes it seem like a nice retreat from the world but easy to access local facilities by car. It is easy to find and is simple to get to from Shannon, Galway and Knock airports or by road from Dublin. There are lovely places to eat nearby and some great local pubs. We will definitely go back again. I got nothing but praise from the rest of the family for finding it. The owners are fantastic and make the stay hassle free & welcoming.

“Absolutely Wonderful”

From the moment we first contacted Ciara absolutely nothing was too much trouble she even organised extra highchairs and cots for my twins at no extra cost.
The house is huge and there is everything you need for your stay and more! The interior is light, airy and very comfortable with magnificent views of the Burren. The peaceful and picturesque walk from the house to Ballyvaughan is perfect to take the pram or just yourselves where there are lovely pubs and great restaurants.
I would recommend this house to anyone who want a peaceful, luxury stay away from it all.

“Best holiday home we have ever encountered!!!”

From the word go Ciara was warm, welcoming, informative and friendly. The house is everything the pictures show and more, the views from all rooms are exquisite. You are in a very private and secluded part of Ballyvaughan which is how we like to be, running in our bathing costumes out in to the hot tub and sauna you know that no one is going to see you. The children enjoyed playing in the very well maintained and laid out garden. The house is so large inside with its open plan living area, our daughter who is in a wheelchair was able to manoeuvre about with ease. The kitchen has everything you need. The house has underfloor heating which makes it feel so cosy, even if it's really windy outside the house is so well insulated you hear nothing. Towels and bedding are immaculately clean. If you have OCD with cleanliness then this house is for you. I could go on and on but bottom line is, if your planning in staying in the area do yourself a favour and book Ciara and John's home, you won't be disappointed.

“A dream in Ballyvaughan”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Ballyvaughan Dream Cottage. Right from the first email to Ciara the owner to our final check out she was courteous and professional.
On arrival we were all delighted with the house. The house itself is based 3km outside of Ballyvaughan, practically next to the Aillwee Caves. It’s an absolutely great location to explore the Burren, that’s if you can drag yourself away from the house!
The house itself, well let me tell you first off that the pictures to not do it justice. It is by far the best house we have ever stayed in .. and we’ve stayed in a lot.
On entering the house we were impressed by the sheer space. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and baking – any utensil you can think of, well it’s there . The sitting room is big and spacious and has a great big TV and comfy sofas and a recliner chair for curling up in at night.
There are four bedrooms, two downstairs and two up. The upstairs bedrooms are both en-suite and the master has a view of the burren to die for. We woke up to sheer tranquility every morning.
There is a gallery/landing area has books and puzzles for you to enjoy.
One of the downstairs bedrooms is en-suite and the other has a bathroom next to it. Everything was spacious and spotlessly clean. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better you walk outside to find the hot tub and sauna, it was like sitting in a hot tub in the middle of a forest, go and you’ll see what I mean.
Honestly I can’t recommend this property enough. If you book it you won’t regret it.

“Beautiful home in stunning landscape”

Some places are really hard to leave. We ended up staying in Ciara and John’s house longer than we had planned, for lots of reasons. The location is really special. It’s folded into the Burren landscape in a dip in the Aillwee mountain. From the kitchen table I could watch the light shifting over the limestone rocks and I never, ever got bored of the view. While the setting is drop dead gorgeous, there’s more to it than that though. It’s partly a feeling. It’s peaceful. The hazel wood a few steps from the house has more than a hint of magic about it. And rolling down the drive-way, with Ox eye daisies nodding at every turn, the shoulders seem to drop a couple of inches. The house itself is fantastic. It’s a clever house, with an eye to beauty. It was designed to be loved and lived in. It’s airy and light-filled and everything works exactly as it was imagined. The rainwater system was my particular favorite - drinking water without the nasty chemicals and bathing water that nurtures the skin. It’s also extremely well equipped. Towels are soft and linens sun-bleached white. We’re picky about our kitchen paraphernalia and brought a lot of our own stuff only to discover that absolutely everything we needed was already there. Finally, the clincher for us was a walking green road to the town. As we have a baby who likes to be on the move when napping, it was a life-saver. Overall though, I think the main reason that we found it hard to leave was that it felt like coming home.
