“Beautiful location”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I stayed here for a wedding in July 2014. From the moment I contacted the reservations team at the hotel they were most helpful. I had some equipment to deliver to the hotel prior to the wedding which the team helped with without hesitation which took a lot of pressure off me.

My sharer was celebrating a birthday and the team ensured there was a birthday card, bubbly and a lovely amenity was in the room when we arrived. Not only that but one of the receptionists came to the door with more bubbly when we were in our room. The room was a great size and we were overlooking the front lawns.

The breakfast was served in a beautiful spacious room and was delicious and again the staff were most helpful with everything.

The Spa is a must visit with the outdoor hot-tub being my highlight. Typically, it started to rain whilst we were outside in the tub which made the experience all the more fun. Upon departure the team kindly arranged transport in a very comfortable car which was a lovely way to end the weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the back lawns.

It was our fifth visit to this beautiful place and we have after more than ten years again enjoyed every second of our stay there. The comfortable and spacious room, or excellent service at the front desk, concierge we were f out past visits accustomed to, as well as excellent maintained park. But what surprised us most was the improvement of all restaurants in this house. Ingenuity of the chef, based on the use of local products and their creative presentation brought me back memories on the best dinners, we enjoyed on the continent. I’m sure, that it was not our last visit here.

Our group (comprising of 6) visited the K Club for a weekend’s golf mid July 2014. We always look to play that big ticket golf course or one with serious pedigree hence our decision to choose the venue for the 2006 Ryder Cup. We are low handicap golfers with high expectations, and I must admit that we were blown away and stunned by both the Palmer and Smurfit courses. Both golf courses are fantastically laid out and presented in faultless condition; but the Palmer just nicked it as our favourite (close contest).

The staff members at the K Club are impeccable; and to be honest really made our stay. Whether at the golf club house, main hotel, concierge service or green staff; we were made to feel welcome at all times and given a fantastic level of service. Tracie in the hotel reception deserves a special mention. She helped us numerous times with requests, advice and recommendations; and we thank her kindly for going out of her way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Based on our stay, the K Club will be on our golf weekend rota for many years to come! What a thoroughly enjoyable and special weekend; many thanks to all the staff at the K Club, well done.

We've stayed at the K Club several times. Each time we are more and more drawn under the spell of house guesting in an elegant, private, country estate set amidst breathtaking scenery. The fact that two world class golf courses are visible from the windows is an added bonus. We go to relax, hit some golf balls on the practice range, indulge in the excellent spa and feast on their wonderful food. The selection of Irish whiskies in the intimate bar is superb. This is the sort of place one dreams about going to. Try it. I cannot imagine that you will not love it as we do.

Stayed with my husband Saturday 12th July as a birthday treat for him. Had booked a round of golf on Sunday which he enjoyed, as did I walking the course with him. Hotel room was lovely and grand with beautiful huge bathroom. Ate in the Legands golf club. The hotel left us to the golf club although being a nice night we walked back. 5 min walk. Was impressed with the prices here, and the food was really tasty. Upon our return to the main hotel we had a drink from the bar and as it was quite busy the barman suggested we sit in the TV room. It was really comfortable and had the whole room to ourselves.
Breakfast Sunday morning was a big let down. When u sit at your table they take your egg order, weather it be fried scrambled etc. my husband and I both ordered fried egg. Scrambled came to the table and we said we didn't order it , and the waiter said he'd be back. He came back with a fried egg for my husband but never returned with mine. In the meantime were still waiting on the butter we asked for earlier, now the toast is cold. My husband went up for his fry and all that was on offer was bacon and mushrooms. So I said I'd wait till more food eg sausage came. By the time it came he was well finished his own breakfast. The couple next to us ordered hard boiled eggs. They waited ages, so had just left the room when the eggs arrived. The waiter asked us had we ordered boiled eggs, so we said it was couple next to us but they have left now. I was really disappointed with the service at breakfast , this should not be happening in a 5 star hotel. Overall though it was a lovely place to stay.

This resort had by far the friendliest staff and best service of any hotel I've stayed in in Europe, of which I've been to about 20 cities this summer. Definitely worth every dime. The gardens and landscape resemble the Belvedere palace in Vienna which are accompanied by a high class country club atmosphere to make you feel like royalty. The greens are flawless which make it easy to understand why the Ryder club was played at this course. This is a place you MUST go.

Great staff - guy behind the bar Mr Flynn ( Was it Neal ? ) kept us well stocked and entertained whilst still keeping the wedding that was on well tended ! Lisa ( I think bad with names ) the Sommelier , was so knowledgeable and a great tour and tasting in the cellars ! And the lovely lady on reception tall black hair - couldn't do enough !all good was amazing including the Thai place ... Room fantastic we had room number 8 and it had a little patio which was great - no fridge or mini bar which i thought odd but no problem .

My only minor gripe was the tea tray - no tea spoons just those awful wooden stirrers you get in coffee shops - so trying to get a tea bag out was a challenge and burnt fingers ! We were there for a few days so took some from breakfast and they stayed in the room ! 5 star resorts should not have wooden stirrers in my opinion !land never seen anywhere before - But as I say minor in the grand scheme !

Spa was excellent with great staff and a clean pool ect ... Shame the mood showers don't work pool side !

Over all top stay !
