Dun A Ri Forest Park

Two wishing wells. Cromwell's Bridge. Ruins. A bubbling creek. The most beautiful copper beech tree I've ever seen. Whimsical statues scattered throughout the park. A quiet, magical walk. One of my fondest memories in all of Ireland.

This beautiful forest park is located only 2 minutes from Cabra Castle Hotel but you do need a car as the main road from the hotel entrance is too busy to walk. There is lots to see here from Cromwell's Bridge to Ladies Lake - bring some bread for the ducks - & don't forget to take a drink from the Wishing Well and make a wish!!! There are lots of beautiful areas to take photographs, Rabbits Bridge and under the big Oak Tree. This place is ideal to bring a picnic too there are numerous park benches or just lie out on the big green. A great treat for the kids is to find all of the wooden sculptures in the park there are 7 different art commissions in total by Joey Burns a series of Frogs, a Pine Martin, Fox, Hare, Badge, Otter and the Red Ghosts!

Nice long and short walking paths. So much to see and just beautiful. Don't miss the lower paths along the river.

Various walks with hidden sculptures. Have to pay for parking but it's only a flat rate. Ideal for everyone.

Visited here today. It was a lovely day for a walk. Plenty to see. My only complaint was the 5 euro charge for entry to the car park.
