“Beautiful and historic”
Reviewed 12 February 2014

The whole area just behind the main street in Youghal is an amazing stretch of well-preserved irish history.
The church, the college and gardens, the old town walls, Sir Walter Raleighs house, - well worth spending a few hours exploring

“A Beautiful Church”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

This was such a beautiful and peaceful church with so much history. We had a lovely woman spend almost an hour with us showing us around and giving us the history and pointing out the details of the church. It was so fascinating to find out so much about the church. It has so much history. The medieval sound enhancing that was done is amazing. There is so much of the building that is original, some of the roof, floor, and the walls. The walls of the city are just behind the cemetery. This is definitely a must see.

“A "must see"”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

This is a special church - not many churches anywhere can show an unbroken line of priests, ministers, rectors dating back to 1220 but St. Mary's does. Not many churches will have an original 13th century roof, medieval sound enhances built in to the walls, tombs and grave stones dating back to the 9th century, heraldic shields of the great dynasties who lived around Youghal - the Fitzgeralds, the Boyles, the Villiers Stuarts, Smyths. It is a must visit !
