Lovely hotel. We arrived and checked in to what was suppose to be a normal double room but when we got to the room it was an executive suite. Nice surprise, the room was really nice and spotlessly clean. Had a lovely meal in the pub next door called the creamery and then went on to a great night in durty nellys across the road, with live music upstairs and a great trad session downstairs. The next day we hit the Spa and had a lovely massage and facial, one of the best yet. Had a lovely relaxing day and had dinner in the hotel that night which was great value and lovely food. Next morning hit the gym then had a lovely breakfast. The Staff were lovely and will definitely be returning as soon as possible

We went to this hotel with hopes of a nice four night break and left after one night as the place was poor, equipment not working. There was a heavy unpleasant smell in the room and breakfast was very average.

on special days like weddings sometimes its the little things that make all the difference. And sometimes you need someone to look after all that, the things that really make it special, the things you forgot, the things that make the bride smile all day, all the important detail. Well take a bow Dave Shelly and the the Bunratty Castle Hotel. Fantastic!!! thank you all so much. The McNamara Family, 14th of march 2014

Seems to be a preferred hotel for tours. Saw many travelers coming and going with a one night stay.
Stay were not very friendly and in some cases not friendly at all.
The pub is spacious and a good place to relax after a long day of touring.
Even though there are better hotels in the world this serves a very good purpose for the area rich in tourist sites. The value was well worth the stay.

Room Tip: Avoid staying near the main lobby. the multiple tourist buses and pub make it a bit noisy.

I visited one of my favourite hotels in the County of Clare recently as I had some business in the area. I got a very good deal on their Golden Year Breaks. For around €180 I got dinner, bed and breakfast on three days. Now beat that for value!
However, the furnishings are showing serious signs of wear, especially the joining on the carpets which could do with some urgent attention. The staff generally are as attentive, helpful and friendly as ever. The food in the restaurant, while it would not worry a Michelin-starred establishment, is good of its type and served in a very friendly and caring environment.
Breakfast, however is another story. On my first morning there, the breakfast (a buffet) was stone cold. Imaging a hot buffet meal being served up on cold plates! And although there were kippers on the menu, there were none available and I never managed to get some on this trip. However after a firm complaint to the management, the breakfast venue was moved downstairs and some attempt was made to rectify matters. The food was still not much better than luke-warm, which to me makes the breakfast fry unappetising. The eggs however are served directly from the kitchen, which is some saving grace.
The hotel is certainly worth a try if you are in the area. If you can, be sure to book well in advance however as the place is particularly popular with overseas tour groups given the sheer value for money.

The staff here made our stay very difficult. We got a deal on groupon and on the receipt it said included 2pm late checkout for an extra long weekend. They turned off the power to our room at 12 noon so we couldn't even finish getting ready and told us they were too busy to let us check out at two. The breakfasts were cold and poor quality. When we first arrived we asked where we could get cigarettes and beer the lady said to walk down to the petrol station cause they have off license facilities. They only had wine and when we got all the way back to the hotel we found out they have a cigarette machine right there. The evening staff was particularly rude and unaccomidating, especially the men. Two ladies were nice out of all the staff we encountered. Also there is nowhere to get food after 9:30pm anywhere at all.

The hotel is quite nice with different settings in different rooms. I stayed at the executive corridor, which can be recommended. Breakfast is served in the Library and is comprehensive but not rich. All the trimmings are there, so not too bad.
The gym is nice, but a bit worn down. Out three treadmills, only two worked and the operation was VERY unstabile due to worn down equipment. The mounted TV-screens lived their own life with programs changing constantly without anyone pressing the keys. Should be looked at.
Cosy bar, but I did not try the restaurant. Nice pubs and restaurants nearby (from 3 minutes by foot up to 10 minutes)

Room Tip: Choose the Executive Corridor - breakfast in The Library...
