Not expecting much from a pub in the touristy Bunratty Folk Park, we were pleasantly surprised to find it ranks up there with all classic Irish pubs. We were there for lunch and had the vegetable soup and seafood chowder - both delicious - and the special dish of the day, some kind of fish on top of a huge mound of potatoes.
The servings were very large (bowl of soup or chowder and slice of bread enough for some of us for lunch), the service was prompt and very friendly, and the beer, of course, was terrific.

“Lovely lunch on a busy day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

We were in the folk park on Easter Monday so there were lots of events on and it was packed. That didn't seem to matter in MacNamara's. We were seated quickly, served incredibly quickly and the food was lovely. There was a great buzz to the place but it didn't feel crowded though they were obviously very busy. We shared a charcuterie and cheese platter which took up half to the table. Staff joked with us about having to clear space.

“fun all around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

we arrived rather late in the day, yet the staff treated us as if we were the first customers of the day! Joked with us, generally treated us like we were old friends!

Very tasty scones and cup cakes as we stopped in for a rest! The pub is very authentic, warm and friendly, and the tea was perfect! Thanks!
