If you have but one night in the Shannon area, I would without question tell you to stay in Bunratty at the Bunratty Manor. We arrived a day ahead of our group of 22, and wanted a place to rest before our journey commenced. We settled on Bunratty and the Bunratty Manor. We arrived at about half 10 am and much to our surprise, our room was ready. We settled in for a 4 hour rest in a wonderful room. Our stay was perfect. The staff was wonderful, the bar downstairs was perfect, and the village is just a 10 minute walk away. A great first night in Ireland!

Room Tip: I don't recall a lift, so you might request a first floor room. Ours was on the 2nd floor and n...

We recently stayed at Bunratty Manor while were in town celebrating my parents anniversary. Not only is it extremely close to Shannon airport, it's walking distance to everything in town. There was great shopping, restaurants and the castle just down the road. The front desk staff was friendly. There is a bar in the hotel, which was very nice and convenient. They even let my husband and brother take a pint on the road as long as we returned the glasses! The decor is very traditional and not very updated, but that is part of the charm. The breakfast was okay but not great. While the breakfast was included, you could choose from various items as well as help yourself to a buffett of fruit, yogurt and cereal. My sister ordered from the menu and never received her order. We evetually had to leave to catch our flight so she didn't get her order, but otherwise it was good.

The room was fine, the staff extremely friendly and the dinning very upscale. Two attractions within walking distance are Bunratty Castle and "Durty Nelly's" - a wonderful pub with great food and music.Bunratty Village is a short drive from Ennis which many attractions.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor facing the street which was a little noisy. If you struggle to sleep a...

We stayed at this hotel for one night recently and were very surprised by this hidden gem. A very warm welcome, beautiful room, great service and reasonable cost. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will look forward to returning.

My husband and daughter stayed at Bunratty Manor for 3 nights in July as part of a 17 day tour of Ireland. It was our first stop after flying in from Canada, and it turned out to be the best place we stayed by far of all the places we went. The manager Noel was so nice and accommodating , the staff was excellent and friendly and the food at the restaurant and breakfast was super. The room was comfortable and bathroom big and very updated. Can't find fault in anything, and the place had such a welcoming charm as everyone went out of their way to make us feel wanted. I cannot say the same for most of the other places we needed up staying in Ireland unfortunately. Its also well situated just up the street from the folk park and dirty nellies. Thank you Noel for treating us like family, you and your staff have a special place.

We stayed at this charming boutique hotel recently and it was very a pleasant experience. The owner manager was charming and the receptionist was very helpful. We didn't dine at the hotel as the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday night. On the recommendation of the receptionist we did eat locally at Gallagher's Seafood restaurant across the road which was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the huge bathroom had a large shower. Our room didn't have much of a view as it overlooked an abandoned building site, so be sure to ask for a room at the front. We had a late night after-dinner drink in the bar which is a shrine to horse racing with lots of wonderful memorabilia, photos and paintings. The barman was most pleasant and very customer focussed. The Hotel is a short walk from Bunratty Folk Park and Castle and 10 minutes form Shannon airport. Probably best for short stays to explore local tourist attractions. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the front of house
