“Fantastic Irish B&B”
Reviewed 30 April 2013

What a great little B&B down the road from Bunratty Castle. Penny made us feel very welcome and at home in her warm bed and breakfast. We were greeted with some tea and biscuits after a windy visit to the Cliffs of Moher.

Clean and tidy rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly hosts. It was a nice place to stay.

To offer one piece to improve! get the internet sorted with a strong signal. The wireless was weak and inconsistent throughout the house.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quality.

We just made our third visit to Dunaree Bed and Breakfast. On the low road along the side of Bunratty Castle is a line of bed and breakfast establishments. They all look quite nice, but we will never learn more about the rest of them, because we will always stay at Dunaree House. We frequently visit areas in Cork that are quite far from Shannon Airport, and have memories of some harrowing drives with flight deadlines looming over us. So one year I got the idea that we would pull away from our family one day early and stay at Bunratty, which is about 5 miles from Shannon Airport. We met Penny and Kevin, the proprietors, and found that, as is always true in Ireland, they and my Irish husband knew quite a few people in common. They are always kind and work tirelessly to provide for any of our needs. The rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could want, especially comfortable beds and luxurious towels. Their breakfast room is lovely and has a beautiful view, as does their front yard. For breakfast, there are several delicious choices, including the traditional Irish breakfast, and everything is so fresh and appetizing. It has become a transition from visiting Ireland to going home that we actually look forward to, knowing that we will have a most comfortable night spent in the company of hosts who have become friends.

Couldn't have been made to have feel more welcome by owner Penny at this lovely and cosy, home from home B&B.
Room and bed very comfy, good, hot powerful shower, comfy lounge to use, peaceful location and a blinding full Irish brekkie with homemade bread and cake and pretty much anything else you could want...even had normal decaf tea. All reflective of the warm hospitality of Penny....was like staying at a freinds house.
B&B about 10 mins walk from pubs and restaurants and Medieval Night.
A lovely place to relax and sleep like a log in Bunratty. I'm sure I'll return one day.

Best nights sleep in a while and very delicious breakfast the following morning Kevin served us and we felt great and ready for another days touring my recommendation is Stay Here whether you are flying in or out of Shannon you will not be dissapointed great value and great experience Thank You Penny :)

Dunaree was our last stop in Ireland before we left for home. Penny was a great host. Our rooms were large and comfortable. Penny was helpful in recommending places to eat and things to see. Highly recommend.

Penny and Kevin were very helpful and hospitable, and served delicious breakfasts! Their recommendations on restaurants were great. Dunaree is a beautiful and comfortable house. The location was perfect for exploring Bunratty, Limerick and the Adare areas. It is also and easy ride to Shannon. Wished we had our kids with us. Would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Book early if possible!
