Cashen Course House
Ranked #5 of 21 Ballybunion B&B and Inns
Reviewed 9 July 2012

We only stayed for 1 night last week but the Cashen Course House was excellent. Our room was huge, very clean, quiet, and the beds were outstanding. Thanks to Deidre for running an excellent Inn!

We used Ballybunion as a base for meeting up with Irish relatives and for exploring the area. We did not go there to golf. The B&B was very attractive, spacious and clean. Our double room was large with a big ensuite bathroom with lots of hot water, the biggest bedroom and bathroom in a b&b that we have ever had. Bed was comfortable. Our room looked out over the golf course across the street. There was a choice of breakfasts and they were tasty and filling. Free wifi was available and worked well. There was a big guest lounge available. Dierdre, the hostess, was very gracious and accomodating. It's location is very convenient for golfers, right across the street from the clubhouse and just down the road from the beaches. You do need a car to get out and explore the area and the b& b had ample parking. If you go to Ballybunion, be sure to check out Carrigafoyle castle ruins in Ballylongford, less than a half hour away. Lots to explore nearby and the scenery is beautiful.

We didn't come to Ballybunion to golf but to see the landscapes of a true old-school links style golf course. We have nothing like it in our part of the US, so it was a must-do while in Ireland. Cashen Course House was perfectly located. Our double room was spacious and very clean, the beds the most comfortable of all the B&B's we stayed in during our vacation. Dierdre was helpful, pleasant and made us a very nice breakfast the next morning.
We visited the Golf Club after we checked out, made some purchases in the pro shop and took pictures. It's quite a magnificent location and we learned that you could walk through parts of the course, down toward the ocean. Really gave one a feel for being out among the links.
Would highly recommend Cashen Course House if you're in the area.

Perfect location for golf at Ballybunnion, literally across the street from the courses. Large rooms, well appointed - plenty of space to unwind. Deirdre is a terrific hostess going out of her way to accommodate special requests. Good breakfasts, too. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Our small group had 3 rooms, all we're great.

We're golfers and were looking for a very convenient location to Ballybunion. We chose The Cashen Course House and... what a find! Our room was beyond spacious and awash with sunlight. The view of Ballybunion's Cashen Course was a plus. Our bathroom was equally as spacious with 2 sinks, a shower and a jacuzzi. The common rooms were lovely - bright, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Deirdre, the innkeeper, worked her magic at breakfast, and since we couldn't decide what to eat, we sampled pretty much everything! Cashen Course House arranged our tee times on both courses. All we had to do was show up. We heartily recommend Cashen Course House on your next trip to Ballybunion!

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny.

I spent three nights with my son at the Cashen Course House. Rooms were perfect for the trip. Nicely appointed, clean, and spacious. Bathrooms were spotless as well.

When we arrived, we needed to do laundry. No problem. Nice honor bar for beer in the living room and a wonderful breakfast. John was welcoming, and upon our return, The Cashen Course House is located across from the Cashen Course at Ballybunion, and is less than a half mile from the clubhouse and practice facility. 9pm practice sessions at the range were a staple.

I would not stay anywhere else.

We are not golfers, but sailors who love the ocean. We have stayed at dozens of B&B's, and this was absolutely the best ever for facilities, service and price. Our room and bath were spacious and phenomenal--luxurious bed and linens, huge windows, whirlpool tub and tiled shower. The common areas are elegant. John and Deirdre are so gracious and breakfasts are made-to-order terrific. The location is serene and peaceful, and you are so close to the beautiful beaches of Ballybunion. Can't imagine a better place to settle into while you explore County Kerry.
