If you are golfing the famed Ballybunnion Links Kilcooly's is the place you should stay! John's welcome, did I mention his complimentary room upgrade and hospitality are second too none!
The real Irish experience includes the locals and with Kilcoolys you are in town right next to Bill Clintons statue. The rooms, food and bar were first rate for service, experience and quality.
Leaving early on our day of departure John rose early with us as we would have missed breakfast served us and sent us home with the one thought of returning as soon as possible!

We went to a family wedding, beautiful hotel, great food, we didnt stay because they were fuly booked, but from what i saw of the lounge the rooms must be good. The wedding was hosted really well, the wedding breakfast was amazing, the band great and overall great day. A lovely place to hold an event/wedding

Had dinner there early August with my family. Called and booked a table prior to going for dinner that evening only to be told there was no table booked for us..........however the member of staff who greeted us in the restaurant managed to squeeze us on a table. All my family enjoyed their meals however I am a vegetarian & there was no vegi options on the menu so I had to settle for a plain pasta dish off the the children's menu which was a little disappointing for me..!! We were sat near the gents toilets which wasn't very pleasant as there was a strong smell coming from the toilets. On a positive note my family enjoyed their meals but make sure you take a name when booking a table..!!

Stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed the experience. John, the owner, went out of his way to be helpful and make us feel welcome. The rooms are quite large and tastefully decorated with many antique pieces. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We had an early tee time the next morning and John got up early to make sure we got a hearty Irish breakfast before we left. The next day we had more time and were able to fully enjoy his delicious breakfast that is cooked to order. The attached pub room drinking establishment is a first class Irish bar that serves some excellent dishes. If you are headed to Ballybunion this is the place to stay!

We stayed with Joan and John for two nights in early August 2013. We were very please with the accommodations and meals. The rooms were very large which helped with all of our luggage. The bathroom was also spacious. The meals were excellent.
Joan and John were very personable and helpful. They are very hard working ( last to bed first up ) with a great understanding of customer service. I would recommend their establishment to anyone. Their house is well situated to the golf course. We actually walked to it one day.

Joan and John O Connor Owners of this very well appointed Country House . Make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive . With manager Bart and there very helpful staff nothing is a problem .
The rooms are large and tastefully decorated with old world charm , Large en suite with shower and bath . The rooms are spotless and are cleaned daily .
The food is a experience to savour from breakfast cooked to order by John himself where quality and choice is of the highest standard with fresh , local products . Lunch and Dinner menus have you spoilt for choice from Fresh fish to pasta . Classic Lamb shank to Tender Steaks . Classic and Modern cuisine side by side on all menus offers great choices and once again the quality and freshness is of the highest standard with a real home cooked touch . The food is complemented with a excellent wine list with some rare vintages on offer from John O Connors personnel cellar .
There is a smile and friendly face always on hand to greet you from arrival to departure with a unique hands on personnel touch which is very rare these days and has been lost in most modern Hotels .
The one outstanding quality that made this stay so enjoyable and made my overdue badly need break into a very relaxed , stress free time is the Staff . Joan , John ,Bart and staff set a high standard for others to follow with excellent local knowledge to help , advise and look after your every need during your stay . weather its booking golf and planning a trip , early breakfast or late arrival .
