I cannot understand the negative reviews. You get what you pay for and this hotel was clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. The friendly barman had no problem giving me a drink although he was almost finished cleaning up. Breakfast was excellent and I had no complaints whatever! There is no pleasing some people!

I don't know what everyone's complaining about in the previous reviews. This hotel is lovely. We stayed last night and attended The Wolfe Tones gig in the Hub night club. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I made the reservation with Martina via email and she even kept two tickets for me to collect on check in. She was really friendly and helpful and always responded in a timely manner. We stayed in room 81 and it was lovely, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and even had a Jacuzzi bath which was fab. The evening food was delicious and there was a really nice selection of hot and cold food for breakfast. I had the French toast crispy bacon and maple syrup. Delicious!!!! The hotel is in a central location and there was plenty of parking around. Would stay here again no problem. I Highly recommend the Munster Arms!!

I stayed at the munster arms with my boyfriend and friends last weekend while we were in bandon for the music festival. I honestly cannot think of anything positive to say... This place is a total joke and if I got the room for free I would be hard pushed to stay there again!! On arrival, there was nobody at reception and even though the staff saw us standing there they were not in any rush to check us in. We asked three staff members if we could check in and eventually a young lady arrived to the reception. The girl was pleasant but she requested that we pay for our room there and then which I thought was unusual. It wasn't long before we realised why the payment was taken before we got to our room..... It turned out that we had no running water!!! This was not highlighted to us upon check in!! My boyfriend went straight back to reception to inform them that we had no access to water and he was told that they were aware of that and they were trying to sort it out! In the mean time, we were unable to wash or even flush the toilet and after a three hour car journey we had to head out to meet our friends, feeling mank! My boyfriend asked to speak to the manager and in the end we got a 20 euro refund but realistically we should have paid a lot less than we did. Aside from the water issue, the hotel is filthy and very run down. I struggled to eat in the breakfast room after seeing cobwebs close to where we were sitting. It's just a grim, dirty little hole. It needs a total revamp and a new approach to management. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere as bad as this in Europe. If I was going to stay in bandon again I would much rather bring a tent than stay in this hotel and I don't even like camping!!!!

I stayed in this "hotel" in May 2013. The room was dirty. I put my case on top of the wardrobe to find that I had to clean it when I was packing. (Filthy is the word to use). My understanding was confirmed when I saw the owner!

Not on my list of stops anymore.

Room Tip: Try another's venue. Clonakilty or kinsale is about 15 mins more travel time

I don't know if there has been big changes recently, but I cannot understand the negative reviews.

For the €45 I paid, I cannot fault the place. Room was spacious & spotless. Staff were charming, polite & helpful. Jacuzzi bath was amazing!!

If I had cause to come back to Bandon, this would be where I would certainly stay.

They told me this hotel had been renovated after the floods. What a wasted opportunity!

The breakfast room is windowless and grim, the bar dark and cheerless and the reception area uninviting.

The staff seem to be overworked with one person doing reception, chef, waitress and tidying at breakfast time. We stayed from Thursday to Monday. The person on Friday and Monday was lovely; the person at the weekend was surly. Breakfast varied accordingly; the weekday person produced a fine breakfast; the weekend person could not cook.

Sinister stains on the bedroom carpet, mould on the bathroom window and a lack of dusting added to the air of neglect. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the bedrooms though.

Cheap but not worth it.

Room Tip: Don't stay there
