“Stopped off for an ok late lunch”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 via mobile

Stopped here on the way to Roscrea for a late lunch as they advertised food served all day. The hotel seemed nice and we decided to eat in the bar area which was a bit mundane but adequate. We ordered at the bar, 2 tomato and basil soup with soda bread and a plate of chips. Service was fairly prompt, the waiter brought 3 bread rolls to the table and our cutlery, assumed the soda bread came with the soup!! No it didn't, even so why were there 3 rolls when there were 2 of us, were we supposed to fight over one or halve it! The soup was tasty but the only hint of basil was the leaf which floated on the top. The chips were good and an adequate serving. It was €14 for the lot with 2 sparkling waters so pretty good value all in all.

Everything about our stay was wonderful from check in to check out. We were a group of 6 friends away to enjoy some time in Ireland and booked this as part of a coach trip with National Holidays. We had a really good holiday and did not want to leave as we had such fun staying here. The hotel has a pool, (swimming hats must be worn and are for sale at 3 Euros), gym, steam room etc. The rooms are warm and comfortable, bathrooms with shower and bath.
All the staff are really helpful and friendly, nothing seems to be too much for them.
Food is served in the bar and restaurants, children allowed in the bar until 9.00 p.m. If you do not wish to eat at the hotel the town is only a short walk away with a selection of places to eat and drink.
Would love to return and hope to do so.

Stayed here over the recent bank holiday and could not fault the hotel in any way. We were checking in during the arrival of a large wedding party & the receptionist could not have been any more helpful or friendly. The hospitality continued on into the bar where good quality food is served at a more than reasonable price. The leisure centre had a large pool and was very well equipped. Well done to all, it is great to see a family hotel still providing great quality Irish hospitality.

Stayed at this hotel on AUGUST Bank Holiday weekend with group of fellow motorcyclists. It was a very wet evening when we arrived and rained all night through to next day. The hotel was very accomodating with all our wet equipment and set an area aside for us. Have stayed here before and it is a solid hotel good for functions and a base for travelling in the area.
All usual services and food was of a standard for the type of hotel but nothing out of the ordinary. One issue I would have is with the lack of lighting and sockets in bedroom. Room was a bit small and the only lights were 2 bedside lights and one standard light. In entrance area and around wardrobes there was no lighting at all. It was not possible to fully illuminate the room which is helpful when dressing and getting ready to go out. Room was dark even with side lights on. Other than that its good for a break

Room Tip: Just make sure you get a good sized room with plenty of light!

Stayed in this hotel with my husband and two Grandchildren for a wedding. Room was amazing, huge and the girls loved the bunk beds. Staff were friendly and brilliant with the children. The swimming pool and leisure facilities were great. Food was amazing. the hotel was modern and clean and price was reasonable. Brilliant location, very quiet......would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Family room was spacious and gave adults and the kids ample privacy.
