I stayed here for 1 night on a hen weekend. I am very fussy about smells and bed linen and the Avon Rí did not let me down. The house was spotless, the rooms big and airy, the bed linen fresh and the area quiet. We had 5 houses all of which backed onto an open green area which was perfect for us on a sunny weekend to chat together, not so perfect if you have smallies.
The restaurant served really good food. I have food intolerences and couldn't find a desert to try but the mains and starters were lovely. Also the price at €30 a head was very reasonable.
The hotel organised a bus for us all into Naas to club that evening and to bring us back again. It was comfortable and with two hen parties aboard fun. The Court is definitely the better nearby club for those in the 25+ age bracket.
Overall I would love to go again, and try some of the multitude of activities they offer, and from my exprience this is a friendly, professionally run enterprise and you won't regret visiting.

we stayed here during easter, we rented 3 houses we a great time but i do have some suggestions on improving the standards.... the carpet in the houses need shampooing and replacing by wooden floors in some cases. coat hooks as per previous reviews would be a big help. the pool area is awful ..one of the worst iv seen in a long time, no one seems to look after it, kids allowed in on their own to go mad and jump/run all round the pool area unsupervised changing area really dirty no pool shoe covers provided so people walk in in their OUTDOOR SHOES!! jennifer on reception so very helpful. no hoover provided for the carpet which seems mad on stays for a week or more. activities for younger children would be amazing ie small obstacle course or treasure hunts or games in the tennis courts .... finally a more varied menu during the week would have made us eat/spend more in the bar!!!!!

We booked a house here for a one week family vacation. The process was easy, and we had no idea what to expect. Our family (two adults, two teenages, and three younger boys) had a wonderful time, with a lot to do on-site. Though we did travel Ireland (decent location for visiting sites), there was more than enough to do right there. The staff (front desk, restraunt, and activities) were great and went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. Our last day (Good Friday), they put together an activities program for the six of us, including archery, air rifle, canoes, and ropes, which everyone from the youngest to the oldest, absolutely loved ... and then provided these services at a greatly discounted rate. The price of the house and the activities were a great deal. The only down part is the restraunt was a bit pricey, but that is to be expected at a resort ... we usually went to a pub or store in town for eating (though evening drinks at the bar were always good).

I recently stayed at Avon Ri for a weekend and it was the perfect spot. We rented 5 of the houses on site and I have to say they were perfect. The only complaint - and it's not really a complaint at all - is that the houses were very hot in the morning so remember to turn off the heat before you go to bed. Also the water pressure in the showers is a little low.

Other than those minor things the location was fantastic and I particularly have to point out the staff on reception, who went out of their way to be helpful over the weekend. Nothing was too big a problem. We rented out bikes and did a tour of the resevoir, great fun and suitable for even the most unfit cyclist.

We didn't eat in the hotel or use the pool so I can't comment on them. We were lucky with the weather, which was lovely and there were lots of families about on Sunday enjoying the walks and the zip wire beside the lake. It's a lovely spot for children, especially with the hens and chicken and goats, plus there is loads to do without having to leave the resort or Blessington general area. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for a weekend away, especially for a group.
