Ronan has got to be one of the nicest people in the world. My girlfriend and I read about Wolftrek online and thought we would check it out while visiting Dublin. The place is an hours bus ride away from the Temple Bar area, no transfers required. Thing was, she and I only realized that we had forgotten to check what stop to get off at once we were 30 minutes out of town, so we were completely lost! We ended up getting off only a stop or two early, walking to a local corner store, and calling Wolftrek. Despite the fact that we were now 30-45 minutes late, Ronan drove out to pick us up and stayed late, not rushing or skipping any part of the ride.

They do a great job assessing your riding skill level and catering to it - my girlfriend is very experienced and I am very unexperienced. Both of us felt comfortable with the setup. Once we were actually riding, Ronan has a lot of fun historical setups and information, although the view of the countryside was more than sufficient to wow us. Also, the ride wasn't especially long, so we still had plenty of energy and time for other activities.

OK, this review is getting long... We highly recommend Wolftrek! You won't be disappointed.

We had a great time with Wolftrek...we arrived and was warmly greeted to the stables by Ronan and Louise. We were quickly kitted up and put on our trusty steed for the day and shown the ropes of horse handling (which for a first time of riding a horse, was done very clearly so I had full confidence in keeping control of the horse) and then began our trek up the Wicklow hill side stopping for insights into Irish history involving the horse. From the Norman invasion of Ireland, to farming and agriculture, It was a great summation of the History of Ireland and also gave us some useful facts such as why we drive on the left! Thanks Ronan for sharing all that knowledge with us! Thanks also to Helen for helping to keep the horses from eating half of the countryside! All the best and thanks again from Josh, Richard, Hannah and Abi!

Great family day out today at Wolftrek on our mini trek, we were very well catered for by Ronan and Louise, and Louise got the job entertaining our 5 year old son who had a great day horse back riding. This is a great way to relax for an hour or two and listen to great stories. Thanks Ronan an Louise, from James an co.......

We had a great day in blessington with wolftrek riding experience. We arrived 20mins early for our lesson and where welcomed straight away, given a quick introduction and then taken out on a very enjoyable trek across the countryside. The instructor was very knowledgeable and provided lots of very interesting facts about the history of the Irish horse which brought the whole experience to life in a lighthearted, friendly and entertaining trek across some very beautiful countryside.

As inexperienced riders, we took the mini-trek as a family of two adults and two children (11 and 7). We were made very welcome by this friendly family-run riding establishment and entertained by stories of the history of horses in Ireland as we enjoyed a placid ride and the beautiful Wicklow scenery. Our seven-year-old was a little nervous at first (it was her second time on a horse), but she soon had a smile on her face and later said that it was the best activity of our week's holiday in Ireland. Thanks, Wolftrek!
