We stayed in the Tulfarris in mid August as had a family wedding in Dublin. We also wanted to combine the holiday with some golf.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and quickly booked in.

I booked a double room with a seating area and to our surprise we had two rooms, a bedroom and a separate lounge area with a balcony and a small kitchenette. There was also a bathroom which was modern with a good shower, various bath oils etc. plenty of hot water and towels changed everyday. There were even two televisions one in the bedroom and one in the lounge area. Couldn`t get much of a programme but we were there to play golf not to watch telly. The bed was comfortable and had pristine white clean sheets. The safe in the room didn`t work at first but no problem the maintenance soon sorted it out. The decor in both rooms were modern, comfortable and well decorated.

The breakfast had a good variety of cereals, fruit etc. The hot breakfast consisted of the usual items bacon, sausage, mushrooms etc and the eggs were cooked to order and came out hot and freshly cooked. The evening meal was lovely and plenty of variety and well cooked. We had window seats for most of our meals and it was beautiful looking over the golf course and lakes. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful.

The golf course is beautifully set out amongst the Blessington lakes. It is well kept and greens are good. There is even complimentary coffee half way round. It is, however, a very tricky course and the average golfer will find it tough. But that didn`t spoil our enjoyment of the course.

Set amongst the lakes the hotel is not near any town, except the small town of Blessington, which basically does not have anything other than a few shops. Naas is a good drive away taking 1/2 hour or so in and out of winding roads. So best advice is to dine in the hotel and you will not be disappointed with the food. The main bar downstairs is lively with outside seating area.

We will certainly be visiting the Tulfarris again when we are in the area. The hotel also offers very good deals with dinner, bed and breakfast and golf.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite with a balcony.

We stayed for a wedding, so due to all the rushing around and the vast quantities of drink that are standard at most weddings, I might not be best suited to write a review, but here goes.

Nice place, in a nice location. The room was very well laid out and furnished, and also had a MASSIVE shower. We missed the breakfast (see above), but got lunch in the bar. Very nice steak sandwich.

Friendly staff, and not to mention, a good spot for a wedding too. Good vibes all in all.

Stayed in Tulfarris on 19th August for wedding anniversary, highs were the excellent food and great atmosphere in bar, low points were the lady at check in she was very blunt and unhelpfull and then at 06:59 in morning we were awoken by the most awfull noise of lawnmowers emerging from a shed 10 metres outside of bedroom window, informed staff at reception, said they would pass it on to management, rather spoilt stay and left hotel on a low note.

Room Tip: Dont stay in room 216, noise from rear shed early morning is dreadfull.

Hello BarO,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our hotel, we really do appreciate all feedback as it certainly helps us to improve.
I am sorry to hear that your stay with us wasnt as we would like it to be. Firstly I would like to apologise about our receptionist who greeted you in a way you felt blunt and unhelpful, this is certainly not the normal standard for tulfarris, I can assure you of this. I have spoken to the team and the staff member who checked you in and she has asked me to pass on her apologies, she certainly did not mean to come across like this at all.
With regards to the golf course equipment, we are now going to look at relocating this shed that holds the equipment. The maintenance on the course does need to be done at dusk but we to have to understand that our guests comfort and sleep is paramount.
I do hope that you will see some changes on your next visit and I really hope that you do come and stay with us again as I would like you to see that these are certainly one off occurences.

If you would like to contact me personally so i may reassure you further please contact me at the hotel.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
Mark

We've visited this hotel twice before and always had a lovely time, last visit was about 18 months ago. Sadly since that time the hotel has gone very downhill.
We booked a suite for three nights about 3 months ago, this visit was to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary. When we arrived about 6pm we were advised that they had no record of our requesting a suite and they only had a double room left. After much discussion they eventually managed to find a suite. We wished they hadn't bothered!!! It was on the ground floor, no privacy with people walking by outside ,The only good thing is that the windows were so filthy they probably couldn't see through them anyway. The area outside was covered in cigarette butts and the wall in the living room area had a massive crack down it. Also the electricity meter over the sink area made so much buzzing noise that you couldn't sit in there at all, as it really was awful. Seating badly stained, horrible marks all around the shower screen.
It was awful.
We were very tired after the journey from the UK and decided to just put up with it for the night and speak to reception in the morning. Which they did ,they were helpful and said they would have another suite available upstairs for us after 3pm, This one was marginally better but still not great. But the last straw for us when we went for dinner at the restaurant and were advised that it
wasn't open that night and we would have to get a bar meal if we wanted any food. Bearing in mind that we had booked a room on a bed/breakfast and evening meal basis! Apparently it was Captains day at the golf club and they were too busy to look after their paying guests....
Enough was enough, we booked out the following morning and we won't be back. We celebrated our anniversary at Brook Lodge, Co. Wicklow. Ok it cost us twice as much but it was worth every penny.
Hotel is now okay for a bunch of guys who want to go on a golfing break and aren't too fussy but can't think why anyone else would want to spend their hard earned cash there

Stayed in Tulfaris recently with my family for three nights in the family room.
The staff at reception were very helpful throughout our stay except for the Lady who booked us in.
She was quiet rude ,intimidating and not helpful with any requests.
The bar / restaurant staff were really pleasant and very friendly. Food tasty. My children loved the breakfast.
We met a lovely young girl who cleaned our rooms .She was very good at her job and had a lovely manner.
Beautiful grounds.
Would like net curtins on the ground floor bedroom windows as our bedroom was opposite the playground!! You could see right in.
We had dinner in GI Gi in Naas one of the nights and it was lovely.
Close to Dublin for shopping trip.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay.Thank you.

Room Tip: book a rooms away from the garage where the mowes are stored.Early morning noise!

We had the biggest room we have ever had in a hotel. Huge bedroom and next door a very spacious sitting room with a kitchen. My toddler and my 10 y.o. had a blast running inside the room, wrestling on the soft carpet and watching DVDs that you can get free of charge at the reception. Two tvs, table with 4 chairs, sofa for 4, kettle, iron and board, hair dryer. You need to bring washing up liquid, plates, etc you can get cutlery from the reception. No cooker only microwave. The food at the bar was not up to our taste. I ordered a vegetarian stir fry and left half, my husband ordered veg curry and left most of it. Breakfast very basic, no porridge of fresh fruits. No cold meats either. The playground was full of dirty mucky puddles. Not much for the kids to do, bug it was ok as we spent the day at the Russborough house and they loved the playground there.

Room Tip: Room 123 was so big I would def recommend, you open the door and you are in front of the playground.
