“Wish we could have stayed longer!”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

One night was not nearly long enough to stay at this AMAZING hotel. The porters were so friendly and check in was a breeze. The receptionist helped us make a reservation for that same evening for the Earl of Thomond restaurant. We spent some time rowing on the lake and walking through the walled garden which, even in early spring, was beautiful and peaceful. My husband made use of the men's steam room/sauna in the pool area while I relaxed in the huge tub in our gorgeous bathroom. Dinner was quite a luxurious affair and the staff helped us celebrate our 15th anniversary in style. Really wish we could have stayed longer to try a falcon walk or take a carriage ride. Maybe someday we'll be lucky enough to go back.

Decided to stay at the castle for a wedding I was recently at. As a frequent traveller on business I am fortunate to be put up in many great hotels such as Mandarin Oriental, W Hotels and Four Seasons as well as some budgeted properties such as Travelodge and La Quinta suites so I have seen them all. This is the best serviced hotel I have ever seen in. The hospitality and warmth that each member of staff gives is why I reviewed this as a WOW. The wedding must have had 150 people and the food and service that was provided reminded me of some of the greatest dining experiences I have ever had. Silver service for a banquet; are you kidding I said. Bad me. It was incredible. The beef was served to our liking and arrived just as I requested and breakfast is a big deal at Dromoland. A delight after a late night. The managers were clearly from the best hotels and had great experience. Each staff member we came across were so nice. The grounds are magnificent. Thank you all. I will be back.

A magnificent propert and experience.
You are pampered from the time the porter, Aden, takes your keys. He guided us to our large room which had robes and slippers for us to change in to.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the door and room service brought a welcoming gift of cookies and milk for our son.
The trap and pony ride was great. Sean provided a detailed history of the building and grounds while Paddy carted us around.
We saw a couple taking advantage of the falconry which looked equally interesting.

The pool, sauna, and steam room provided welcome respite after a long day of driving.

Food was great and service impeccable especially the breakfast staff.

I highly recommend a drink at the bar and/or in front of the fire.

Next time we will plan a longer stay. The location is very convenient to Shannon Airport and Bunratty Castle

We enjoyed a wonderful 2 nights here recuperating from a family wedding!

Everything is superb, restaurant, staff, ambience, setting and rooms.

The setting is particularly lovely and a pony and trap tour of the grounds with Sean as your guide and Paddy the pony as your power is well worth the experience, Sean can tell a good tale!

Baggage service is helpful but not "full service" and there are plenty of stairs (wonderful staircases) but no lift in the main house, I don't know if they have a lift in the outer buildings.

The bar is very, very nice and live music of the subdued variety is great.

Enjoy your visit, we certainly did.

Room Tip: Check the availability of a lift or ground floor room if you have mobility problems and a room in th...

Dear Jonathon S

Thank you for your feedback, we were happy to read you enjoyed your recent stay with us. Your comments are shared with Sean, Paddy the pony and the team.

Unfortunately it is not possible to put an elevator in an old castle structure such as ours but we do have a newer wing which has an elevator and is ideal for guests who may have mobility issues.

I hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to visit us in the not too distant future.

SIncerely

We loved it here. Wish we had stayed longer because you can easily spend a day just "being" at the hotel and enjoying the huge selection of activities offered. The grounds are huge and amazing--allow time to wander them. The public areas of the hotel are also beautiful and relaxing in the bar or having tea time there should not be missed. The spa is also great---I had a wonderful massage. Dinner there is a feast and I can't recommend this place enough. Give it more than one night!

Stunning from the earth up! Something from a fairytale. The rooms are pristine, well appointed and nicely furnished. The grounds are flawless. The staff is friendly and helpful. I loved that our porter had been there for years, Aden we look forward to seeing you again next year. This is a dream getaway for families and couples. My 5 year old son LOVED that there was a teddy bear waiting for him when he arrived. He has been carrying it around ever since and even took it to the movies the other day. The personal touches, elegance and hospitality came together to make this a WOW experience. Simply stunning.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a view. Staying on the lobby side of the castle was nice too.

We had a lovely stay for two nights as part of our honeymoon trip from the states! After a lovely greeting when we drove up to the hotel we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. Dinner was fabulous in the fine dining restaurant as well as the clubhouse. The falcon walk and spa are not to be missed.

When when we left we promised we would be back soon. After we drove to Dublin we realized that we had left a priceless family heirloom bracelet in our room at the hotel. After phoning the hotel we had their confirmation that they had the bracelet within 15 minutes and it was secured in their safe. They kept it for us until the morning. Needless to say we returned more quickly than we thought. What a wonderful staff and resort!!!!
